· central village location · 5 minutes walk to Finkenberger Almbahn gondola · 2 minutes walk to ski bus stop to Mayrhofen and glacier • €10-15 taxi ride to Mayrhofen
Finkenberg might be a little quieter than neighbouring Mayrhofen - but that isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially for keen skiers and boarders. Firstly you still get all the great terrain of the Ziller Valley but for a fraction of the price. Also you avoid the queues of the busy Penken gondola, so you'll be at the top of the mountain quicker and experienced skiers can follow the red ski route 11a back down to the village in good conditions too.
Centrally located in Finkenberg's Dorf area, about a 5 minute walk to the Finkenberger Almbahn gondola, is the Gästehaus Gratzerhof. The Gratzerhof is a fairly simple guesthouse - clean and well cared for - with a friendly atmosphere. The rooms are basic, yet spacious, comfortable and quiet - decorated with hardwood panelling in true Tirolean style.
Breakfast is a hearty continental buffet - local breads, meats and cheeses, along with cereals, juice, jams and hot eggs for you to help yourself to. You have several options for evening dining, upgrade to half board and take a set menu at one of the local restaurants, explore Finkenberg under your own steam for a bit more variety (many of the hotel's have great restaurants) or head over to Mayrhofen for the night. Taxis between Mayrhofen and Finkenberg cost around €10-15.
