· central village location · 5 minutes walk to Finkenberger Almbahn gondola · 2 minutes walk to ski bus stop to Mayrhofen and glacier • €10-15 taxi ride to Mayrhofen

Guesthouse Gratzerhof Summary

Finkenberg might be a little quieter than neighbouring Mayrhofen - but that isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially for keen skiers and boarders. Firstly you still get all the great terrain of the Ziller Valley but for a fraction of the price. Also you avoid the queues of the busy Penken gondola, so you'll be at the top of the mountain quicker and experienced skiers can follow the red ski route 11a back down to the village in good conditions too.

Centrally located in Finkenberg's Dorf area, about a 5 minute walk to the Finkenberger Almbahn gondola, is the Gästehaus Gratzerhof. The Gratzerhof is a fairly simple guesthouse - clean and well cared for - with a friendly atmosphere. The rooms are basic, yet spacious, comfortable and quiet - decorated with hardwood panelling in true Tirolean style.

Breakfast is a hearty continental buffet - local breads, meats and cheeses, along with cereals, juice, jams and hot eggs for you to help yourself to. You have several options for evening dining, upgrade to half board and take a set menu at one of the local restaurants, explore Finkenberg under your own steam for a bit more variety (many of the hotel's have great restaurants) or head over to Mayrhofen for the night. Taxis between Mayrhofen and Finkenberg cost around €10-15.

You’ll be amazed at the amount of skiing you can access during a stay here. In the heart of the Zillertal valley, this small traditional village is a haven for those seeking a week away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and spending every last moment on the slopes. The picturesque village, which is the home of Olympic skiing champion Leonhard Stock, also boasts a natural ice rink, which is sure to keep everyone entertained off the pistes. A much quieter and cheaper alternative to its more well-k...
The Zillertal SuperSkipass gives you access to more terrain than you could possibly ski in your holiday- you’ll be desperate to come back next year to hit the rest of the slopes! One of the great selling points of Finkenberg is the great segregation between the beginner and advanced areas- no more nervous moments as the local ski team schuss past you as you’re creeping onto the slopes! There are two separate areas that are great for beginners- mountains Ahorn & Eggalm. The gentle lifts and easy slopes of the...
The après ski scene is in keeping with a town of its size and is more quiet and cosy than an all-out party town. However, there are some great places to eat and drink on the mountain and with Mayrhofen just a bus ride away, the more seasoned party goer has ample opportunities just around the corner. The Igloo Bar at the Ahorn Plateau is a great place for a drink at the end of your day on the slopes. Enjoy the views of the surrounding peaks whilst you relax on the sun terrace with a stein of cold beer. After a...
