Overview: hotel description: Gaustablikk Mountain Resort description

This stylish ski stay rocks the mid-century modern look from top to bottom, from wood panelling and funky art to swish statement lights and furniture. Its long list of the facilities definitely have a fresh feel too – spend off-slope hours in the sleek spa, or soak up the floor-to-ceiling mountain views from the indoor pool.

Or for the ultimate front-row seat, pay a little extra for a floating sauna out on the lake – you can even take a plunge into the water if you’re feeling brave. The nature’s all around you here, and you’re only a minute’s stroll from the lifts, so getting stuck into the skiing each day’s a piece of cake.

And you're in for a treat when it’s time for a bite or a tipple. Breakfast’s served buffet-style each morning, and if you upgrade to half board you’ll get three courses of posh nosh in Blikk’s Raw & Grill, where the crème-de-la-crème of chefs from Norway's cuisine scene work their magic. Then to round off the day, stop by Kirk’s Bar for a classy cocktail and a game of shuffleboard or table tennis.
