The Gästhaus Schneeberger is a friendly, family-run guesthouse (in summer it is a working farm) with an inviting atmosphere. It's typically Tirolean in style - the rooms are spacious and comfy, decorated with warm colours and plenty of natural wood.

The Schneeberger is about as close to being in Mayrhofen as you can get without actually being 'in Mayrhofen' - essentially it is the wrong side of the River Ziller. So, if you are planning on spending every single night out in Mayrhofen this place probably isn't for you as it's about a 30 minute walk into the centre of town. However if you are in the Ziller Valley for the extensive skiing then this might actually be perfect for a few reasons - aside from the fantastic value.

The Gästhaus Scheeberger has a great location for keen and experienced skiers and boarders - it'll only take you around 12 minutes or so to walk up to the Horberger gondola. Most people skiing Mayrhofen use the Penken gondola - which has a reputation for getting very busy, especially in the mornings, and having quite long queues - the lesser known Horberger doesn't - meaning you get on the mountain that little bit quicker. Also there is the red Skiroute Penken 1 that runs all the way back down to the Horberger base station, so if conditions are good you can have a challenging home run instead of riding down on the gondola.

At breakfast you'll have your choice of breads, cold meats, cheeses and cereal along with boiled eggs - and many of the ingredients are produced on their farm. For dinner you have loads of choice. Mayrhofen has plenty of restaurants to explore - a taxi back will cost around €10. There's a pizzaria near the Horberger gondola and a few small restaurants nearby - alternatively upgrade to half board and have your evening meals at the Alpin-Hotel Schrofenblick, just a couple of minutes down the road.
