The 4 Valleys, thanks to its size and location, tends to have good ski conditions at whichever time of the season that you are looking to visit. The 412km of pistes face in all directions, which gives great variety as the south-facing slopes are best early in the season and the north-facing ones come into their own much later. The 3330m Mont-Fort glacier should be covered with snow from December until May and high-altitude slopes with additional artificial snow coverage means that the area is a safe bet for some great skiing.

Verbier is an iconic resort with a range of off piste areas and après ski entertainment that has to be seen to be believed. Family-friendly resorts like Nendaz and Veysonnaz are ideal destinations for a last minute trip with the kids or a quiet week away. A variety of ski schools, beginners’ zones, snow parks and childcare facilities mean that kids of all ages are bound to have a great time and parents can enjoy a stress-free break! The two resorts have managed to remain reasonably under the radar and so tend to be a lot quieter than Verbier, even during the busiest periods of the year, meaning they are ideal choices for a last-minute, low-cost deal.
