Location - where is Chalet Zebra

Six minutes stroll from the centre of Meribel, two minutes walk to the infamous O’Sullivans (Dick’s T- Bar of late). The pistes at La Chaudanne are two minutes away by our Merishuttle chauffeur service.

Overview - chalet description - Chalet Zebra description

Newly renovated for us in 2014, Zebra is nicely nestled in the sought after chalet quarter and a short walk from our flagship Chalet Bellacima. A large suspended central fireplace dominates the living area with outsized comfortable sofas and floor to ceiling glass. The accommodation is generously spread over three floors with abundant wrap around terraces. The bathrooms have huge walk-in showers and the bedrooms have flat screen TVs. There is a small TV lounge and massive outdoor sauna and ubiquitous sunken hot tub.

Chalet Zebra provides comfortable accommodation for twelve in six en suite bedrooms. The dedicated chalet hosts will prepare daily delights at breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner, allowing you to sit back, relax, and make the absolute most of your ski holiday.

Little Zebra is located across the terrace and up a flight of stone steps, and so the two chalets together are a perfect choice for a larger group of 16.

Meals - food and drink in Chalet Zebra

Our Executive Chef is passionate about food and hugely sensitive to the appetite of a hungry skier whilst considering a balanced diet. The new and refined menus are heavy enough to reward mountain exertion yet light and simple enough to leave you grinning not groaning.

All our holidays include;

  • Continental breakfast with a cooked option on 6 mornings
  • Afternoon tea will be left in the chalet for you to help yourself to freshly made cake or biscuits, bread & jams, selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate
  • Canapés on the first and last evening
  • 3 course evening meal (6 nights) followed by cheese board and coffee
  • A choice of red and white wine is served throughout dinner
We update Chalet Zebra's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

3 Valleys ski area Excellent ski schools Lively après ski

Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

Meribel's location is tricky to beat, slap bang in the centre of the mammoth Three Valleys ski area. British made and largely Brit run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a homely atmosphere in a good looking resort with more than enough pistes for a week (or three). It's made up of a huddle of gorgeous hamlets, built in traditional wood and stone and surrounded by thick woodland. The main area is Meribel Centre (usually known just as Meribel). A trad alpine village with choc-box chalets, th...
With three beginner areas known as ‘Zen Zones' plus some good greens to practice on including Le Foret, Altiport and the Cool Moon area (carefully planned out so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings), Meribel's one of the best ski resorts to learn in. If you're skiing with little ones there are fantastic ski schools and child-orientated areas, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees. Moon Wild is a special area where children can learn about local wildlife as they enjoy the s...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes will be as varied as the days spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It’s said that you haven't experienced après ski here until you've sampled toffee vodka... We say the only real “must do” is Le Rond Point, which is perhaps the most famous après ski bar in the world. Meribel is rightly famous for its night life with a variety of pubs, bars and clu...

Our first chalet experience as a family… definitely one to be repeated in fact we wouldn’t go skiing any other way! On arrival in the resort we were met by the lovely Sarah and Rosie who had the coffee on and a delicious apple cake ready for us. Chalet Zebra is beautifully light, airy, comfortably and relaxing and has everything you need. Matt looked after us and helped organise our ski high and lift passes and my husband and the boys were on the slopes within a couple of hours of arriving – a fantastic service. The Drivers were on hand throughout the day and evening and were good fun and very knowledgeable; happy to provide plenty of advice on where to go and hat to do. Sarah and Rosie cooked lovely meals each evening and the wine was plentiful. They were always happy to accommodate different meal choices and put up with 3 of us grimacing at the thought of the goats cheese starter! We are real foodies and would perhaps have enjoyed slightly more sophisticated food; but what we did have was cooked and presented extremely well. My only surprise was that the children were not able to have soft drinks free of charge during the meal; there was an honestly fridge with cokes we had to pay for. Not a major issue but I do think for families it would be good if the children were catered for as well as the adults? Meribel is the perfect resort for experienced skiers and non-skiers alike. My husband and the boys hired a private guide for 3 days… and they were able to explore some amazing runs and had the benefit of local knowledge when snow was sparse. Midnight on New Year’s Eve saw us watching fireworks from the hot-tub while drinking champagne! An excellent time was had by all!
