This package holiday to Chalet Whistler in Val d'Isere, France departs Saturday 18th January 2025, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 2024 was between €1 and €3 per person, per night.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...

Really good, high quality and the wine was way better than I have had before. So s0o, the walk is 8-10 minutes. Well-advertised as this but fair walk 4.5/5 (wish it had a hot tub). Beware of the walk to the lifts – this was however well advertised

We absolutely loved this top-floor Chalet. The lounge is so comfortable - with an open plan layout to include kitchen and eating area, making it that much more special. It was so lovely to relax in the evening after a good day skiing. The large windows onto the balcony and high ceiling, gave the room so much natural light and space. The main building is very big and consists of other Chalets within. The heated ski /boot room on the ground floor is great and safe, with locks to all shared store cupboards for each Chalet. Access to the building and separate chalets are equally reassuring and safe, all entered by key code systems. I would say it is a 5 min walk down to the main high street to catch the bus to the ski slopes. Buses seem every 5 mins.- it's a brilliant free transport system. We took a left outside the building and within 2 mins, then take a right down a public lane that takes you to the high street - you will see the bus stop to the left by the recycle bins. This takes you into the town and slopes - opposite takes you to Le Daille ski area. There is a local yellow bus that goes past the building and you catch it some 5 mins walk down the road. Take a right outside the building. I heard this was every 15/20 mins. I didn't use this one though. This was our first time skiing in April 2023 (second week), and we had plenty of snow and the slopes were simply fabulous conditions. I would highly recommend this Chalet and understand the others within the building were equally great too.
