Overlooks the main Eclose piste, in Old Town district of resort

Overview - chalet description - Chalet Vieux Logis description

The Chalet Vieux Logis has proved a popular addition to our portfolio in Alpe d’Huez. Situated right on the piste, in the heart of the Old Town, this charming detached property provides the discerning skier with all that you could ask for.
The Vieux Logis has been lovingly renovated with considerable thought, resulting in a smart interior which combines contemporary design features with tasteful furnishings full of character. The exposed wooden floors throughout provide a warm ambience, whilst the spacious and airy living area with comfortable large sofas, and large balcony, is a really inviting area for canapés and drinks or for enjoying the beautiful views across the valley. The separate dining room on the floor below is full of character with a beamed ceiling, open fire, and smartly fitted dressers.
The chalet has eight bedrooms of varying size, all decorated in neutral colours, with six of them also having a balcony. Room 7 is smaller than the others with a sloping ceiling and velux window , and the use of storage areas on the corridor, and is therefore sold for single occupancy only.
A brand new sauna was recently added on the ground floor.
Access to the skiing each day is easy with the Eclose piste on your doorstep, and its chairlift only 50m away.
We are confident that guests will not fail to appreciate the quality and convenience that the Vieux Logis offers to ensure a fabulous ski holiday in Alpe d’Huez.

Dinner in Chalets

A tasty and innovative, freshly cooked dinner will be prepared for you six nights per week by your Chalet Host - or by an experienced and professional chef in our larger chalets - and served with a choice of wines. Our four-course adult-only chalet dinners start with canapés and an apéritif, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert, and completed by coffee with chocolates to round off your evening.

Your choice of complimentary quality wines is unlimited during the meal service, and freshly chilled water is also of course always available.

Culinary Choice Dinners in Chalet Hotels

A special feature of our Chalet Hotels is a more extensive culinary experience for our guests. With the greater kitchen facilities of a hotel, our professional chefs are able to offer choices of menu at dinner, generally including lighter as well as more hearty options, and always a vegetarian choice for each course. Guests will be asked to choose their evening meals at breakfast for that evening from a varied daily selection.

Our Chalet Hotel adult-only dinners offer 5 courses, starting with canapés and an apéritif, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert, and a cheese selection to round off your meal in style. All this is then followed by coffee with chocolates to complete your evening's repast! Your choice of complimentary quality wines is unlimited during the meal service and freshly chilled water is also of course always available.

Vegetarian and Special Diets

Vegetarian options are always on our 'Culinary Choice' menu in our Chalet Hotels, and are available in our chalets if you advise us in advance. Other special diets can generally be catered for at a cost of £35 per person per week. Any dietary requirements must be advised to us at the time of booking in order for us to be fully prepared.

We update Chalet Vieux Logis's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

This accommodation only holiday to Chalet Vieux Logis in Alpe d'Huez, France departs Tuesday 2nd January 2018, for a 5 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

With a transfer time of around 2 hours, Alpe d’Huez is very accessible from Grenoble airport. Established in 1936, it was the first resort in France to be installed with a fully operational ski lift. The resort lies in the Grandes Rousses Massif domain and it is partnered by the smaller mountain villages of Auris-en-Oisans, Villard Reculas, Oz-en-Oisans, Vaujany and La Garde, all of which are connected by a free transport system. The slopes are mainly south facing and as a result the area, known as “L’ile ...
Alpe d’Huez has had sun and snow galore since 1936. And with a whopping 52km of greens, this is an excellent place for beginners. The easiest skiing is above the village and Les Bergers and there are plenty of wide open runs underneath the DMC gondola, many being ‘beginners only’ so you can learn without too much traffic. If you’re feeling confident, try some of the blue runs coming down from the main mountain and the signal sector back into Alpe d’Huez. There is a really impressive selection of runs for ...
If you like live music, try the Underground in Vieil Alpe, which combines a pleasant atmosphere with bands playing most nights. Smithys tavern is a proven success in the neighbouring resort of Les Deux Alpes and the Smithy’s in Alpe D’Huez has drinks promotions and healthy portions of Tex-Mex to match. If you can’t bear to miss an important game whilst in France then The Sports Bar is the best spot to watch live sports. L’igloo is the place to go if you want to party late into the night. Alpe d’huez has a...

A real class act, this is one of our favourite chalets in town… and it’s in our favourite part of town too. Keen beans who want to be right by the slopes won’t find a better location as this property even has views of the key Eclose run – if you’re here to ski or snowboard, it’s a classy place to stay right by the action. The décor manages to marry groovy contemporary accents with a trad building, and the warmth of the building is matched by that of the wonderful chalet hosts, who also tend to select nicer wines than the average catered chalet.
