Location - where is Chalet Tetra

Arc 1800. This lovely ski-in/ski-out chalet apartment is located on the second floor of the Alpages du Chantel complex on a blue piste just above the centre of Arc 1800. The ski bus to access other parts of this resort stops at the apartment building. Chalets of this quality, this close to the slopes and the centre of town are a rarity – early booking is recommended! The Dahu pedestrian bubble lift gives easy access to the town from 08:45-23:00 (closed 21:15 to 21:45).

Fantastic access to ski hire via the Dahu pedestrian bubble lift and a 5 minute walk (approx.)

Overview - chalet description - Chalet Tetra description

Chalet Tetra is a chalet apartment offering that little bit of extra comfort in a first class ski-in/out location. Part of the high quality MGM development, it is finished in wood and combines an attractive traditional alpine style with excellent modern comforts. All rooms are either en suite or have private facilities and room 2 enjoys not just a shower but an attractive corner bath as well. The open-plan living/dining room is warmed by a stone and traditional timber open fireplace, has satellite TV and also has a balcony with beautiful views of the piste and across the valley. Due to the chalet’s proximity to the slopes there is a snowy path to the chalet so good walking shoes and easy to carry bags are recommended.

This is a Superior chalet so you can enjoy extra features including a warm reception of vin chaud, delicious four course meals and additional indulgent extras.

This all inclusive holiday to Chalet Tetra in Les Arcs, France departs Saturday 5th January 2019, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

Les Arcs came to be in 1968 after a group of ski instructors and architects dreamt up a resort with all the perks of a village but a mountainside location. It grew into one of the largest, most incredible ski areas in the Alps. The closest airport is Chambery with a transfer time of a couple of hours and there are various transport links from Geneva, Lyon and Grenoble too. Present day Les Arcs consists of four main purpose built villages. The original resort, Arc 1600, was created for doorstep skiing and is di...
As you'd expect from one of the biggest ski areas on the planet, there's everything from gorgeous tree-lined runs to wild, white-knuckle off-piste. For beginners, each of the 3 main Arcs has “ski tranquille” zones and the wide beginner runs leading to the resort have gentle gradients that are perfect for practicing. Local instructors are on hand to show you the ropes, with ski schools based in each of the main villages (1800 has the most). There are magic carpet lifts at 1800 and 2000 - an easy way for newbies...
If you’re looking for a party, Arc 1800 is hands down the place to be. It's hosted events like the legendary Snowbombing festival over the years and has oodles of watering holes like the Red Hot Saloon (or the 'Red Bar' to use local lingo). If you’re looking for more of a French style après spot, Ambiente has a really cool atmosphere and lots of nice cocktails (happy hour usually starts at 4!) while Le club 1950 your venue if you’re looking to party into the wee hours. Arc 1600's a little quieter but for goo...

Lovely food, perfect access to the slopes and easy to get to the village on foot down the piste or via the free navette. Grace and Chris work hard, long hours and they stressed that any problems were voiced. I was impressed how well they adapted the meals for my food allergies, even offering to cook something different for me if I wanted. Tim, James and Mike helped get my car sorted and unloaded too. Would prefer better choice of airports and transfers, that is why I drove.

You get what (or more than) you pay for with this delightful chalet - comfort, views, and location. Sat above the town at a ski-in ski-out spot, your views over this stunning scenery and the famous village of Les Arcs 1800 are hard to match. Relax in the evening after whipping off your boots at the door, by lounging by the open hearth. For more fun, take a short five minute walk to town and see all that the après ski of your local Les Arcs village has to offer.
