Chalet Roc Merlet was the last of our Cacholet chalets to be transformed - something we did during lockdown as we couldn't leave resort! We have totally refurbished and redesigned lounge and dining areas to make it probably the best of our Cacholet chalets now due to its double height lounge and diing areas.
It has a large yet cosy living area with beautiful beams in those high ceilings, traditional-style wooden and stone walls and large balcony windows letting in lots of natural light. This spacious living area feels wonderfully atmospheric with the log fire and is the perfect space for socialising.
Each of the bedrooms has a contemporary ensuite bathroom with bath, shower, wc and basin. Each room also has a balcony and plenty of storage.
Part of our group of ‘Cacholet' chalets Roc Merlet overlooks the courtyard and our fabulous two outdoor hot tubs, in which guests can relax in style after a day on the hill.
Roc Merlet guests can use our comprehensive new shuttle service to and from the slopes in the morning and evening.
Alternatively the main village is a short journey on the shuttle from the nearby bus stop, or a nine minute walk.

Tuck into tempting treats after your day on the mountain. Help yourself to a freshly baked cake or biscuits, baguette and jams, tea and coffee which will be laid out for your return to the chalet.

Dinner

Canapes and fizz are served at 7:30pm as you unwind and relax for the evening. The fizz is from our friend and winemaker Nicolas Perret and is made just down the valley!

Dinner service is informal as we want you to feel at home in your chalet. Enjoy a home-made three course dinner using fantastic fresh produce.

Relax with coffee and chocolates after dinner… if you have any room left!

We serve unlimited red, white and rose wine with dinner, from bottles not boxes!

We can serve dinner early for your youngsters who will likely be worn out after a day in the snow.

Your Chalet Host will prepare home-made, nutritious and fun dinners the kids will love!

Chalet host days off

Your Chalet Host has two days off during the week (usually Tuesday and Friday). We will lay out continental breakfast and afternoon tea to help yourself to.

In the evening, it’s a great chance to sample the local cuisine and your Guest Services Manager in resort will be happy to make a restaurant reservation for you.

This package holiday to Chalet Roc Merlet in Val d'Isere, France departs Sunday 8th December 2024, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 2024 was between €1 and €3 per person, per night.

Ski never-ending pistes and powder, ogle at colossal peaks and cosy Savoie architecture, then end the day with some of the world's most wild and wonderful après ski. Val d'Isere is considered by many to be the best ski resort on earth, and we’re inclined to agree.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...
