This package holiday to Chalet Quebec in Val d'Isere, France departs Saturday 13th April 2024, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 2024 was between €1 and €3 per person, per night.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...

"Good Variety!"

All staff quite young absolutely lovely, went with children (early 20s) perfect for them, cooking was great, haven’t been on a catered chalet for a while but there was good variety. Ski access was fine, wasn’t that far. Glad I don’t have to carry kids skis anymore but it was easy. Ski lockers downstairs, hottub was great. Only issue was a faff going around the houses on a coach, on the way back very early start but got to the airport several hours before the flight because a Manchester flight left earlier. Charter terminal at lyon is not great

The chalet staff were lovely. The lady cooking for us, the chef, she was very accommodating to my child and very flexible. She was amazing actually. The staff were lovely, but I do think that they were a bit “light” on the afternoon treats. I think it was just that this was what they were told to do, so not totally their fault. It was just a little bland and could do with putting out a bit of fruit or something like that, or even leaving out a bottle of something to drink would be nice. The staff did some really nice touches, like put flour on the floor and put footprints in it to make it look like Santa had been there. They were very good. It’s lovely and we would look at going back again. The Christmas lunch was outstanding! They co-ordinated with all the chalets and it was pretty spectacular what they delivered and the amount of food that came out! Because we’ve stayed here before, we’ve figured out where we can leave our rentals, which is near the ski lifts, otherwise it’s a bit of a pain to walk from the chalet with a child. I would highly recommend hiring a locker, or hiring from a ski shop that you can leave your stuff with. If you’re an adult, it’s probably fine to walk in your ski boots, but with children I’d say it makes it more difficult to have to carry their skis etc to and from the chalet.

"The whole thing was brilliant."

Food was amazing, as it was the beginning of the season a head chef was checking on the food, popping in every now and then, the menu was good and we really couldn’t fault it. Perfect location, we had stayed in the building before so knew about the short walk to the slopes. One thing we didn’t know but would of been useful was to hire the skis from Intersport, next to the lifts, allowing us to leave our kit there instead of carrying it.
