We had a brilliant week, Max and Kenny were really good chalet hosts and the food was great with a nice mix of meals. This package holiday to Chalet Natalia I in Meribel & Mottaret, France departs Tuesday 3rd January 2017, for a 4 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

3 Valleys ski area Excellent ski schools Lively après ski

Meribel has a special place in many British hearts – not simply because it’s slap bang in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

As its heart shaped logo suggests, Meribel prides itself in its location at the very centre of the Three Valleys. British made and predominantly British run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a home-from-home atmosphere with a fantastic range of skiing and snowboarding terrain in a picturesque location. The resort consists of gorgeous alpine hamlets made up of traditional wood and stone buildings and surrounded by woodland. The main area is Les Allues (usually known just as Meribel). A char...
With three beginner areas known as ‘Zen Zones' plus some good greens to practice on including Le Foret, Altiport and the Cool Moon area (specifically located so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings), Meribel is great if you're skiing for the first time. If you're skiing with little ones there are fantastic ski schools and families really appreciate Meribel for its child-orientated sections, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees. Moon Wild is a special area where children ca...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes will be as varied as the days spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It’s said that you haven't experienced après ski here until you've sampled toffee vodka... we say the only real “must do” is Le Rond Point, which is perhaps the most famous après ski bar in the world. Meribel is rightly famous for its night life with a variety of pubs, bars and clu...

"Picky's group back in Chalet Natalia 1"

We had a good week, we’ve stayed in this exact chalet before and it was excellent as before – we knew the layout would suit us as a group of 18 and knew it was easy to get to the pistes and bars from where the chalet’s located. Chalet hosts were very good and friendly, food excellent as usual! It’s perfect for a large group like ours and I should imagine it would be a good location for families too. Overall we were all happy with the Natalia I and had no problems.

We had a brilliant week, Max and Kenny were really good chalet hosts and the food was great with a nice mix of meals. The WiFi worked very well, sometimes in big chalets you find that the WiFi doesn’t work everywhere, but they had routers all over the building so we could use it even in our top floor room. It was pretty easy to get around from where we were based, although I’d probably choose to stay in Meribel rather than Mottaret next time. To get to the main slopes was easy though, you literally walk across a car park and ride down.

"Among the best appointed & priced"

Nestled in a community of chalets, Chalet Natalia I and her sister, Natalia II, have fantastic access to the mountain and the town. Less than five hundred metres from the village and Meribel’s’ vibrant night scene, a bus service which stops outside will get you there even quicker. Skiers are a little over a hundred yards from the piste, while newbies will need to walk just a little further to the bottom of the chairlifts. Make at least one pilgrimage to the world après ski mecca Le Rond Point de Piste, if only to be able to put that particular tick on your ski holidays bucket-list.

This is a great sociable chalet of 18, the living area was large with lots of leather sofas and a huge plasma TV. There is also a large balcony which has awesome views of the mountains and it lovely to relax and chat on. It’s basically doorstep skiing, you literally go out the door walk 10m across the car park and you’re on a blue slope which leads down to Mottaret centre. The other great thing is that it is attached Mottaret Sports the ski shop super convenient to get your gear.
