Overview: chalet description: Chalet Milou description

Chalet Milou, from the original French name of Tintin’s dog ‘Snowy’, is nestled just above the Médran lift station providing the perfect skiers position complete with stunning views and just 100m from the piste.

Being located on Chemin de Clambin means you can ski back to the door after a day skiing and it’s just a two minute walk to join the piste above Médran in the morning (unless you choose to utilise the driving service!). The 450m2chalet has been built in a traditional style using reclaimed wood giving it a wonderful rustic feel yet with the benefit of modern amenities. Click here to walk around the chalet in our 360° virtual tour!

Chalet Milou has an extensive balcony that runs the length of the property and a hot tub that has been carefully positioned in a completely private position, taking advantage of the stunning views. Access to the hot tub is is via a small spa area that could be used as a yoga/treatment room with a steam room and private shower.

The large open plan living area has extensive views over the valley and has a large soft seating area, a dining table for twelve and an office corner. It is a well proportioned room with impressive double height aspect and huge picture windows. In addition, there is a lovely cosy TV mezzanine room above this living area, which is cleverly glassed off to provide a perfect hideaway to watch the TV, perhaps read or listen to music undisturbed. There is a second large sitting room which is ideal for teenagers or children to escape to at the other end of the chalet. This room also benefits from the amazing views and is open to the eaves, which can be reached via the ground floor or by crossing the outdoor terrace.

In total there are six bedrooms and Chalet Milou sleeps up to twelve guests.

Families: Chalet Milou for children

We understand how important it is for families that children get the most out of their ski holiday.

Ski Instruction

Verbier has several dedicated nursery slopes situated around the village and great ski schools. However, we understand first time skiers or more nervous children may need extra help or encouragement. Your concierge will discuss any concerns you have to make sure that you get exactly the right instructor or ski school. And don’t worry, your Chalet Manager will always be on hand to help iron out any problems should they arise.

Non-skiing activities

For the younger children, a morning’s skiing is often enough, but there are plenty of other activities to keep them entertained. From climbing walls to cookery lessons, your concierge will be happy to suggest fun non-skiing activities. All our chalets are well equipped to keep your children entertained.

Baby Equipment

Travelling with young children can be quite stressful. It can also involve bringing a fair bit of equipment. Your dedicated concierge will be able to help with this. Whether you are bringing a newborn or toddler we can arrange for whatever equipment you need. We have everything from sterilisers to stairgates and we will even buy nappies for you so that you can relax the moment you arrive.

Child-Friendly Meals

We also want our younger guests to enjoy their mealtimes and our friendly team of chefs can prepare early child-friendly dinners on request. Our chefs can accommodate even the fussiest of eaters, and we are very happy to plan a menu in advance following discussion with Mum and Dad.

Childcare

We work in close partnership with superb nanny and babysitting services . Some also run a kids club – a perfect option if you don’t want to come down the mountain to collect after ski school!

Meals: Chalet Milou food & drink

The best quality ingredients, locally sourced, carefully prepared, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. These are the cornerstones of the dining experience provided in a chalet.

Our Chefs

Our chefs are all professionally trained and very experienced. In fact, they come from around the globe to work for us in Verbier. They bring with them a huge variety of talent and technique, having worked in Michelin-starred restaurants such as Le Gavroche, Chez Bruce, The Square, L’Enclume, Chewton Glen and Launceston Place. Their greatest strengths however are their shared passion for food and service.

Bespoke Menus

Dining is a very important part of the experience, therefore we offer our guests a bespoke dining experience. This means that we welcome our guests to choose the type and style of food that they would like to eat. Our amazing chefs can create anything from a fine dining menu to a sharing feast cooked up on the firepits. For something a little different, they can serve an Asian influenced tasting menu. Alternatively, they can always keep it simple with ‘bistro’ style classics such as the perfect steak and chips. In addition they will prepare an earlier supper if there are children in your party.

Our in-house concierge team will work with you to ensure your chef has a proper grasp on your tastes. We will take note of any likes or dislikes, the intricacies of any varying dietary requirements and the cuisines you enjoy. Then, a few days before your holiday, if you would like, we will arrange a pre-arrival phone call with your chef. At this time you will be able to thoroughly discuss any dietaries and plan your menus in more detail.

Breakfasts

There is no doubt about it, on a ski holiday breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Our hosts will beautifully lay the breakfast table, prepare the latest weather report and be ready to welcome you with your fresh morning coffee. Meanwhile, our chefs will prepare a luxurious spread of locally sourced products. As well as fresh fruit platters, smoothies and bircher muesli, they will also offer a range of indulgent cooked breakfasts. So whether you’re rushing to get the children to ski school or prefer a more leisurely pace, a breakfast will set you up perfectly for a day on the slopes.

Tea or Cocktails?

After enjoying a day up the mountain, it’s time to relax. You can enjoy a freshly prepared afternoon tea, next to the roaring open log fire of your chalet. Or perhaps you would rather have a glass of champagne? It’s also a perfect time to enjoy the bubbling hot tub. And while you chill and reflect on the excitements of the day, your staff will be busy preparing your canapés and mixing the perfect cocktail.

Cotswold Gold

Our UK office is based in the Cotswolds and we’re proud to introduce the region’s award-winning Cotswold Gold Original Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil into our chalets. Cotswold Gold is already used in the kitchens of no fewer than 19 Michelin-star restaurants including Le Manoir aux Quat’saisons and Fera at Claridges.

Healthy Options

On our minds more recently is the importance and increasing awareness of your health and wellbeing. For those looking for a slightly lower calorie count at the end of your holiday, rest assured, we can easily make sure that you have an indulgent, yet healthy skiing holiday!

We update Chalet Milou's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

Established in 1937, posh party town Verbier covers a sunny plateau slap bang in the middle of Switzerland’s 4 valleys – which just happens to be one of Europe’s biggest and best ski areas. The easy-on-the-eye architecture’s a pretty mix of wood and slate, but it’s what you’ll find within some of these walls that’ll blow your socks off… Blending in with dozens of classic chalets and ski hotels, this place has some of the most luxurious lodgings on the planet. Some hotels come with designer suites an...
Besides being famous for its off-piste routes, Verbier’s well groomed slopes are well known as some of the most challenging in the Alps. Although it mainly attracts intermediate, advanced and expert level skiers seeking adventurous off-piste and steeps experience, the 37 local pistes covering 100km provide for all abilities. The resort has three areas specifically for beginners, including the gentle slopes at Les Moulins, which has a children’s area and Les Esserts, with its 120m magic carpet. Those with a b...
Many say Verbier’s après is the main reason to visit – it’s certainly some of the best in the world and if you want to increase the odds of bumping into Prince Harry or Leonardo di Caprio on the dance floor, there’s no better place to party. From a good old pint in a lively pub (we love Nelson’s and Pub Mont Fort) to swanky cocktails with the socialites at Cordee de Alps, the nightlife is wonderfully varied. An absolute legend is the Farinet - with a huge sliding roof, a commanding position over the mai...
