Overview - chalet description - Chalet Marmotte description

Overwhelmed by demand for small chalets, we are delighted to be able to offer Chalet Marmotte, a lovely 3 bedroom chalet apartment situated in the Jardin Alpin Residence. Available to groups of just four or five without incurring large under occupancy, as well as groups of six (prices below are based on six, ask us for pricing for smaller groups). The Residence was completely renovated and relaunched for Winter 2015 and now includes a ground floor spa area with sauna and hammam available for all Residence guests. The apartment is on the first floor with a West facing balcony with views overlooking the Bellevarde. The apartment is 64 square metres and has been attractively decorated in a modern style with an open plan living and dining area with comfy seating. Bedroom wise, there is a double room and two twin rooms. This lovely little chalet will appeal to Family groups particularly with its convenient slopeside location or to small groups of friends.

Families - any extra notes for parents with children

Children in our chalets

We welcome children in any of our chalets at any time throughout the season regardless of whether you are a group taking over the whole chalet or individual bookings into a larger chalet.

  • Our generous special reductions apply throughout the season
  • Selected family rooms with half price for under 12s.
  • The same reductions apply to all your children (not just the first two!).
  • Our child discount applies whether your children share your room or not.
  • Children enjoying discounts are still counted towards group discounts.

(Child discounts do not apply to late availability/reduced price holidays)

For all children under the age of 12 years we offer a generous 10% discount , however in selected chalets and family rooms, children can go at half price. All discounted children enjoy our child friendly early supper which our chalet staff will provide at approximately 6pm, (a parent must be on hand to oversee their child). This will be a two course meal with tasty (& healthy!) dishes such as shepherd’s pie, pasta bakes and casseroles followed by fruit, ice cream, crumbles etc. We encourage parents to chat to our chalet staff prior to their arrival to discuss their children’s meals. If you are taking over a whole chalet and would prefer your children to join the normal adult dinner then there is a supplement of £50 per child per week, please advise us of this at least two weeks prior to your departure. If you are in a shared chalet then we expect children under 12 to have the early supper. The only exception is Christmas dinner and sometimes meals on arrival night if you are arriving late.

We charge £100 for babies under the age of 2. Subject to their availability, we can provide travel cots and high chairs if required, please ensure you bring your own baby sleeping bag or blankets and a harness if required for high chairs. Flight seats are not included and car seats are not provided on our coach transfers. However baby seats are available on private taxi transfers, please ask for prices for private transfers. We do not provide jars or formula but your chalet host will happily keep some fruit/veg to one side and make a puree for your baby. Breakfast and children's supper is available to older babies who can manage normal solid foods.

All our chalets have tv’s and dvd players so please feel free to bring your own selection of dvd’s and also a selection of general board games.

Please bear in mind that our chalets/chalet hotels are not equipped to be child safe, there won't be stair gates or socket covers for example, bunk beds may not have guard rails and not all chalets have microwaves if you need these for sterilising bottles etc. Please make sure you are familiar with the chalet layout and location of bedrooms and bear in mind that entrances maybe shared with other residents. Children's behaviour and their safety remain the sole responsibility of their parents at all times.

Childcare

We don't provide any child care facilities ourselves however there are two local nurseries.

This package holiday to Chalet Marmotte in Val d'Isere, France departs Saturday 6th January 2018, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounce it: val de saire/sare/ser) makes up half of Espace Killy which is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the attractiveness of its surroundings, the resort itself is a compilation of alpine hamlets made up of cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and eye-catching church steeple at its centre, the whole place is truly oozing alpine charm. And while dre...
In Val d'Isere you'll be skiing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski there, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of its premier status, the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009, along with the World Cup every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, beginners can...
Famed for its après ski, you're unlikely to have a dull evening in Val. The resort has 4 nightclubs including the legendary Dicks T Bar (open from 4pm - 5am). Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at Le Folie Douce, which boasts some of the best après ski in Europe. “Bananas” is another favourite, well known for its fantastic cocktails and convenient slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 92 restaurants, you'll find dishes to suit all tastes from traditional Savoyarde indulgence to Marga...
