I wanted to give feedback having spent a brilliant week in Chalet Madrisah, Val d'Isere. The chalet hosts, Ed and Louie were quite simply brilliant. They were brilliant cooks, the food was most definitely London restaurant standard, great fun and nothing was too much trouble. Future Madrisah guests are going to... + more

The team (Nick and Rich) were fantastic. The cooking from the moment we arrived was first rate. Also, the accommodation itself was brilliant. Plenty of sofas, lots of room, and the bedrooms, although small, were nicely finished. If only the coach and Monarch airlines realised that some people are human sized it... + more

Overview: chalet description: Chalet Madrisah description

The wonderful Madrisah, is part of a small private hamlet that we built on the sun-drenched knoll of Le Cret overlooking Val d'Isere.

We've fused the ambiance of an old stone village with every present-day comfort. To the smooth stone fireplaces, weathered oak floors and seasoned timbers, we added a veneer of cool contemporary styling including marble bathrooms, handmade squashy sofas, antique furniture, goose down duvets and original art. There is a glorious open fireplace, towering central staircase and an enchanting dining area with terrace.

For the perfect Val d'Isere ski holiday, the chalet boasts a wet suite with hot tub and sauna. We believe this is the perfect addition to this 4 bedroom chalet offering complete relaxation at the end of each day skiing.

Madrisah sleeps 8 people in four en suite bedrooms, but you don't have to book the whole chalet, you can book by the room on all dates throughout the season.

You will have the choice of Twin and Double rooms all of which have en suite bath, hand basin and WC. Two of the rooms also have a balcony.

Meals: Chalet Madrisah food & drink

Our Executive Chef is passionate about food and hugely sensitive to the appetite of a hungry skier whilst considering a balanced diet. The new and refined menus are heavy enough to reward mountain exertion yet light and simple enough to leave you grinning not groaning.

All our catered ski holidays include;

  • Continental breakfast with a cooked option on 6 mornings
  • Afternoon tea will be left in the chalet for you to help yourself to freshly made cake or biscuits, bread & jams, selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate
  • Canapés on the first and last evening
  • 3 course evening meal (6 nights) followed by cheese board and coffee
  • A choice of red and white wine is served throughout dinner
We update Chalet Madrisah's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...

Future Madrisah guests are going to be honoured to have them looking after them. I know all company staff are of a very high standard (as we experienced throughout the week and the whole experience in Val d'Isere)but Ed and Louie really are first rate. Please do pass on sincere thanks to them and the team, and make sure the powers that be are aware of just how great these two are!

"Fabulous team, location and service - shame about the coach and plane"

The team (Nick and Rich) were fantastic. The cooking from the moment we arrived was first rate. Also, the accommodation itself was brilliant. Plenty of sofas, lots of room, and the bedrooms, although small, were nicely finished. If only the coach and Monarch airlines realised that some people are human sized it would have been perfect. I'm only 5' 11" and I couldn't fit properly in the coach seat. It's a 3.5 hour transfer so not pleasant. The tour operator really need to work on this as it's the last thing you remember when you go home. Also the Monarch planes have very small seats - please go back to BA!
