Overview - chalet description - Chalet Le Mélèze Doré description

A next-door neighbour to our Chalet Les Arols Bleus, the Mélèze Doré offers tastefully appointed bedrooms and living areas, all in the finest traditional Savoyard style, and complemented by beautifully fitted en suite bathrooms throughout.

The big picture windows from the lounge and dining-room, and the spacious balcony, look out over wonderful views across the valley.

The open fire is a natural focus for the stylish living area, with its bright colourful furnishings and handsome wood-panelled walls and ceilings. Sliding doors to the balcony extend the living area still further, especially on those sunny bright Alpine afternoons.

The excellent location of this chalet makes it an ideal choice for both nightlife lovers and serious skiers. The main ski-lifts, shops and bars are only approximately ten minutes' walk away, and access to the slopes is made even easier by our complimentary minibus service, mornings and afternoons.

Meals - food and drink in Chalet Le Mélèze Doré

Buffet breakfast with hot option and afternoon tea/coffee and cake . 4-course dinners including apéritif, choice of complimentary quality wines, coffee and chocolates

Piste Picnics

Our Chalet Hotels can also prepare a packed lunch for you on request, at a small local charge. For skiers keen to keep their Euro-spending to an absolute minimum, this is the ideal way to keep your costs down!

Afternoon Tea

The traditional 'welcome home' after a day on the slopes will be laid out for you in your chalet or Chalet Hotel, ready for your return, every day except on the staff's one day off per week. A good cup of tea or coffee is the perfect accompaniment to a delicious slice of freshly home-baked cake and keeps hungry skiers happy until dinner is ready. As an added benefit for guests in our Chalet Hotels, our chefs prepare a selection of cakes for afternoon tea.

Children's High Tea

In Chalets and Chalet Hotels with family guests, High Tea provides children under 13 years with a healthy menu, tailored more towards children's tastes and puréed food is available for infants on request. High Tea is at 5.30pm, and children do not join the main adult-only dinner.

Children's High Tea in Chalet Hotels

New for 2013/14 Season - Families staying in one of our Chalet Hotels may choose to eat separately (High Tea at 5:30pm) or all dine together at the later adult dinner time if children who have received a child discount pay the meal upgrade charge of £39 at the time of booking only

Dinner in Chalets

A tasty and innovative, freshly cooked dinner will be prepared for you six nights per week by your Chalet Host - or by an experienced and professional chef in our larger chalets - and served with a choice of wines. Our four-course adult-only chalet dinners start with canapés and an apéritif, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert, and completed by coffee with chocolates to round off your evening.

Your choice of complimentary quality wines is unlimited during the meal service, and freshly chilled water is also of course always available.

Culinary Choice Dinners in Chalet Hotels

A special feature of our Chalet Hotels is a more extensive culinary experience for our guests. With the greater kitchen facilities of a hotel, our professional chefs are able to offer choices of menu at dinner, generally including lighter as well as more hearty options, and always a vegetarian choice for each course. Guests will be asked to choose their evening meals at breakfast for that evening from a varied daily selection.

Our Chalet Hotel adult-only dinners offer 5 courses, starting with canapés and an apéritif, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert, and a cheese selection to round off your meal in style. All this is then followed by coffee with chocolates to complete your evening's repast! Your choice of complimentary quality wines is unlimited during the meal service and freshly chilled water is also of course always available.

Vegetarian and Special Diets

Vegetarian options are always on our 'Culinary Choice' menu in our Chalet Hotels, and are available in our chalets if you advise us in advance. Other special diets can generally be catered for at a cost of £35 per person per week. Any dietary requirements must be advised to us at the time of booking in order for us to be fully prepared.

We update Chalet Le Mélèze Doré's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

This package holiday to Chalet Le Mélèze Doré in Meribel & Mottaret, France departs Friday 16th December 2016, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

3 Valleys ski area Excellent ski schools Lively après ski

Meribel has a special place in many British hearts – not simply because it’s slap bang in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

As its heart shaped logo suggests, Meribel prides itself in its location at the very centre of the Three Valleys. British made and predominantly British run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a home-from-home atmosphere with a fantastic range of skiing and snowboarding terrain in a picturesque location. The resort consists of gorgeous alpine hamlets made up of traditional wood and stone buildings and surrounded by woodland. The main area is Les Allues (usually known just as Meribel). A char...
With three beginner areas known as ‘Zen Zones' plus some good greens to practice on including Le Foret, Altiport and the Cool Moon area (specifically located so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings), Meribel is great if you're skiing for the first time. If you're skiing with little ones there are fantastic ski schools and families really appreciate Meribel for its child-orientated sections, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees. Moon Wild is a special area where children ca...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes will be as varied as the days spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It’s said that you haven't experienced après ski here until you've sampled toffee vodka... we say the only real “must do” is Le Rond Point, which is perhaps the most famous après ski bar in the world. Meribel is rightly famous for its night life with a variety of pubs, bars and clu...

"Awesome!"

Awesome holiday, really enjoyed it! Really good, attentive hosts, the food was excellent too, they went all-out every night – we have not a single bad thing to say about our stay here! The chalet’s not too close to the slopes but a shuttle bus took us straight to the slopes every day which was really efficient – no problems at all.
