Best ski holiday ever? I think I can safely say so! Had a wonderful time at chalet Klosters recently, where our hosts Suzi and George did a superb job catering for all our dietery requirements. Great service also by the concierge and the drivers who were always happy to pick us up - which was particularly nice of them to do so after apres ski at the Grand Marnie... + more

Overview: chalet description: Chalet Klosters description

This chalet is located with its group of Suisse Chalets on a sun drenched knoll in the Le Cret area of resort. Along with Davos and Madrisah, the Val d'Isere chalets are in a quiet cul de sac with our Chauffeur service to ferry you to and from the slopes morning and afternoon.

We've fused the ambiance of an old stone village with every presentday comfort. To the smooth stone fireplaces, weathered oak floors and seasoned timbers, we added a veneer of cool contemporary styling including marble bathrooms, handmade squashy sofas, antique furniture, goose down duvets and original art. The chalet has a glorious open fireplace, discreet mezzanine cinema area and a private hot tub on the balcony.

Spread across two floors, Klosters provides guests with a choice of Twin and Double rooms. All of the rooms are en suite with either a bath or shower.

The mezzanine area is ideal for those guests seeking privacy and comfort to work or simply relax. There is also an extra bed on this mezzanine level suitable for a 9th guest.

Our Executive Chef is passionate about food and hugely sensitive to the appetite of a hungry skier whilst considering a balanced diet. The new and refined menus are heavy enough to reward mountain exertion yet light and simple enough to leave you grinning not groaning.

All our catered ski holidays include;

  • Continental breakfast with a cooked option on 6 mornings
  • Afternoon tea will be left in the chalet for you to help yourself to freshly made cake or biscuits, bread & jams, selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate
  • Canapés on the first and last evening
  • 3 course evening meal (6 nights) followed by cheese board and coffee
  • A choice of red and white wine is served throughout dinner
We update Chalet Klosters's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...

From the fantastic service from airport to chalet, to the warm hospitality from our lovely chalet host Suze, to the way staff went above and beyond to make sure we had the time of our lives (I'm talking about our chalet manager Jo), I have to say this is one of the best ski holidays we've had. I only wish all my other holidays around the year can be this easy and well organised!

"Bit tired @ end of season but good food & staff"

Chalet Klosters is a cosy and comfortable traditional style chalet some way from the centre of Val d' Isere on the way to La Daille. The distance from the lifts is largely mitigated by the on demand mini bus service. This service generally worked well with occasional lapses mainly owing to late running other guests. The chalet was showing signs of end of season tiredness such as missing shower curtain hooks, chipped crockery/glasses and stained furniture covers but was kept very clean by our chalet hostess. Wifi was not available in all rooms and this was an irritation, aggravated by the apparent lack of concern on the part of management. Plastic beakers and tissues in the bath/shower rooms would be a good addition. The food was consistently good and our chalet hostess Suz was helpful, cheerful and attentive throughout.

"Good in the circumstances, but some basics need improving"

1. Very friendly staff 2. Interiors of the chalet look tired, holes in cushions, cushions on dining chairs all loose and filthy, 3. Challenging circumstances and accommodating given 12 in 8 man chalet, coped well under breakfast stress getting us out for 825am bus 4. Disappointing on some requests - eg. wine order messed up more than once 5. Good food, but availability patchy - no crackers all week, no bacon one day 6. Very friendly drivers and concierge service worked well 7. However, basic level of cleanliness was poor - not sweeping after meals, not wiping table after kids tea, no weekly clean under sofas, pair of previous clients socks on floor under sink, fridge looks unhygienic, broken tumbler at back of sofa, etc

Great service also by the concierge and the drivers who were always happy to pick us up - which was particularly nice of them to do so after apres ski at the Grand Marnier, or the Petit Danois or Cafe La Face ..still recovering from the indulgences of the week - but it was worth it!!
