Meal Basis: Chalet Board

Sleeps 12

Perhaps the ultimate ski in ski out location, yet near the centre of snow-sure Avoriaz in the vast Portes du Soleil ski area, Chalet Jean-France is comfortably-furnished and a wonderful addition to our short breaks ski programme. The chalet has recently undergone a complete renovation and now fuses a characterful décor with contemporary style; it promises to be a wonderful place for a ski holiday!

Staying at Chalet Jean-France will allow you the opportunity to ski to and from the door, enjoy après-ski bars on the doorstep and it's just minutes away from the traffic-free resort centre, where there are shops, cafés and the brilliant Aquariaz water park. Early booking is recommended to secure your dates of choice, asthis chalet is in very high demand.

This chalet offers a wealth of traditional charm, with 6 good-sized ensuite bedrooms over two floors, each one with a bath or shower. There are 2 communal WCs on each level. There's a spacious open-plan kitchen-diner on the first floor plus a cosy lounge area with a widescreen TV and DVD player, an open fireplace plus a balcony boasting lovely views of the slopes. The chalet has a ski room so that ski and board storage is not an issue and it has boot warmers too.

You really are at the heart of everything with the chalet sitting between two ski in/out Apres ski bars! This means that you don't have to go far to relax indoors or outdoor after your day on the slopes, the bars close by 6pm.

The chalet can only be accessed on foot and over the snow, please wear appropriate footwear. On arrival and departure there is a short 100m walk across relatively flat snow from the vehicle drop off point. Your luggage will be delivered to the chalet door for you.

This is one of our favourite resorts to bring the brood: thanks to a huge and central children’s village, complete with a specialised snowboarding area, children can learn to ski and ride in a fun and safe environment. Avoriaz is one of the only resorts that has a Beginner Pass – letting you find your feet on easy terrain via 14 lifts without the expense of a full lift pass. Beginners-only piste Première Glisse gives you the chance to improve at your own pace, while Proclu and Q’mont are easy blues for cruis...
