This was a flat in a block of flats and not a chalet and it was rather scruffy with tired décor. I feel that it did not warrant the title of 'superior'. However, the food was great and could not be faulted. Tour Operator's response: Thank you for your review. It does state in the description that Chalet Ise... + more

Beautifully modern with an enticing twist of wood, this is a lovely choice for families wanting to be in the village action, without being kept awake by bass pumping parties. The short 400metre journey to the piste is usually an easy meander, and is a great way of seeing this village come to life each morning. ... + more

This Chalet is great for families or probably also for small groups to hire out the whole chalet. They have one family room which is cosy and all have very nice en suite facilities. One twin room has twins facing each other in a long room, which is fine if you don’t mind the weird shape. For parents schlepping... + more

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...

Despite being in a block the chalet was very comfortable and has better than usual facilities and space compared to most chalets I have stayed in! Food was good and chalet host (Holly) was excellent. The only problem was that the lack of information from the tour operator about the transfer, its timing and why we needed to leave 7 hours before the flight, took the edge off the holiday. Having to take the Navette with all of our luggage to pick up the transfer in La Daille was unacceptable and they should have done something to ameliorate the issue! Watch out for hidden "tourist tax" extracted on the bus!

However, the food was great and could not be faulted. Tour Operator's response: Thank you for your review. It does state in the description that Chalet Iseran is a chalet apartment, however we are sorry if this was not clear enough.

Beautifully modern with an enticing twist of wood, this is a lovely choice for families wanting to be in the village action, without being kept awake by bass pumping parties. The short 400metre journey to the piste is usually an easy meander, and is a great way of seeing this village come to life each morning. With the option for flexi-cater as well, your proximity to the town means you’ll be able to sample all the food this world renowned resort has to off (ask about this before booking though, as it can't be changed later).

This Chalet is great for families or probably also for small groups to hire out the whole chalet. They have one family room which is cosy and all have very nice en suite facilities. One twin room has twins facing each other in a long room, which is fine if you don’t mind the weird shape. For parents schlepping around all their kids and gear its great that the lifts are less than five minutes out the door... depending on how much the little darlings meander or drag their feet. Val is such a great place to ski for families and they have brilliant kids clubs and ski school so you really don't need to book somewhere with all those extras in your accommodation. People with older kids can let them hang out in relative safety at the snowpark without worrying they're away finding risky off piste etc. Take the kids for burger at the American style diner inside the Quicksilver shop - great food and not silly prices.
