Overview - chalet description - Chalet Hotel & Spa Le Savoie description

Chalet Hotel & Spa Le Savoie is our flagship Chalet Hotel in an extremely convenient location on Val d’Isère’s central main street. From here it is just a short walk to your choice of the Solaise Express lift for the Solaise / Le Fornet side of the ski area, or the Olympique gondola if you want to ski across towards Tignes.

Sweeping stairs lead you from street level to the welcoming reception area and lounge on the first floor, opening into the attractive open-plan restaurant and bar. The smart interiors combine the warmth and traditional feel of wood, local stone and fine fabrics with stylish and sophisticated modern touches, for an elegant and comfortable atmosphere.

The ski storage is down on the ground floor along with the extensive spa area, with its exotic blue and silver decorative motifs, inspires feelings of complete comfort and relaxation after a day on the mountain.

A good breakfast will set you up perfectly for skiing, and our afternoon tea buffet will be ready to welcome you back ‘home’ each day. Evening meals here are served at your convenience between 7.30 and 9.30pm, including Le Savoie’s slightly wider than normal choice of menu. Children can take High Tea earlier or Family Dining at 7.30pm. The comfortable facilities on offer inside the Chalet Hotel start witha welcoming lobby and reception area, connecting through to the excellent value residents-only bar and comfy fireside lounge. The attractive dining room sets the scene for our fine Chalet Hotel dining, and there is a sauna and large indoor swimming pool with mountain views and relaxing loungers on which to unwind after a great day's skiing.

Uniquely among our Chalet Hotel range – and precisely because it is such an exceptional property.

This package holiday to Chalet Hotel & Spa Le Savoie in Val d'Isere, France departs Tuesday 14th December 2021, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...

"Perfect"

Mr Daly
5/ out of 5
The Savoie was about the most perfect hotel we’d stayed at when on a skiing holiday. Firstly, it had just been renovated so everything was modern and brand new. The decor was very trendy and tasteful throughout. Secondly, our room (504) was big and spacious, with a really nice balcony. Thirdly, the catering – the meals the chef created were ridiculously brilliant. All the staff were welcoming and we had no issues at all. We’ve since stayed in Val d’Isere in a chalet which is right next to the lifts, which made me realise that the only downside to the Savoie is that it’s a bit of a trek in ski boots (100-200 yards).

This property deserves it's platinum status. There's a choice of Classic rooms, Suites and you can even combine these into Super Suites for larger groups or families. All rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated (the suites are ginormous!) and the communal areas are equally lovely. It has an in house ski shop so you don't have to walk any distance to collect hire and the shops, bars and restaurants are right on your doorstep. The ski lifts take about 3 minutes to walk to, but for a property this size to be so central and luxurious and still affordable it has to have one (very small) downside! It's a very easy walk through the centre even with ski boots on. I'd thoroughly recommend Le Savoie for guests that would like something with a higher standard of service than a luxury chalet but with a more homely feel than a large 4 or 5 star hotel.
