Overview: hotel description: Hotel des Deux Domaines description

NB: This is a "family" hotel, so all bookings must include at least one child or teenager.

Des Deux Domaines is firmly established as an family favourite. For next winter the hotel will be run by MMV, who are one of our trusted partners and who already successfully manage a number of hotels in the French Alps. As a result their local management team will provide all catering and housekeeping for our guests and this includes full board catering for 7 nights. Naturally though, all childcare services will be staffed and managed by the team and a rep will be available during your stay.

The hotel will be exclusive to families. We look forward to welcoming you to this stylish and spacious hotel with its well appointed bedrooms, excellent leisure facilities and superb family skiing location.

'Location, location, location!'

Some locations are hard to beat, and Hotel des Deux Domaines has secured one of them, right in the heart of the wonderful Paradiski area. The hotel is both very close to the slopes and yet conveniently just 350m from the village centre, enabling easy access both to the slopes and to the resort's various other amenities. From the ski-room level, doors open on one side to the ski-track connecting through the trees onto the piste, and on the other to the pathway leading up to the attractive resort centre.

Ski Area Access

From the ski-room door, a flattish track through the trees leads with a short 'skate' straight onto the Arpette blue run down to Plagne Bellecôte centre, from where a choice of five different lifts fans out in all directions. At the end of the day, make the same piste your last run, and the same track leads you home to your own ski-room door. The children's ski garden is also within easy reach, only approx. 150m from the upper exit of the hotel.

Comfortable Hotel Facilities

Hotel des Deux Domaines offers the ideal family ski holiday, with well appointed and spacious family rooms, many of which are interconnected. The dedicated Nursery and Snow Club Rooms are furnished and equipped for children's play and there is a stylish foyer lounge-bar area. The dining room offers spectacular views across the valley.

The indoor swimming-pool and wellness area are a popular attraction for families, and for the added enjoyment and relaxation of our adult guests, children under 13 years old are not permitted into the upper level of the wellness area. Here the sauna, steam-room, indoor spa-bath and outdoor hot-tubs provide a tranquil haven for parents to relax on their own, whilst on the lower level the pool itself is open to all the family.

Changes to the hotel

Regular families will notice that changes that MMV are making to the property. All the Paradiski Suites are being converted in to interconnected rooms with proper beds replacing the double sofa-beds in the old lounge areas and new doorways being created. The interconnecting doors can be locked and will be if the rooms are occupied by separate families. The bedroom doors from the corridor are all opened by key-cards.

The dining room and lounge are being extended and as a result the childcare rooms are moving downstairs. The old Bellecote room by the pool was used at breakfast times and this will be one of the Snow Club rooms.

Housekeeping includes a daily room clean and beds made. Towels are changed once a week and pool towels (one per person will be supplied).

WiFi will be available throughout the hotel and not only in the communal areas but this may well be slower at peak times.

The major change of course is the catering which is now full board and on 7 nights starting with dinner on the first night and breakfast on the last morning. The breakfast is a buffet with hot and cold items as well as British hot cooked options. Lunch and dinner has a choice of starters, salads, pasta, pizza, meat, fish, vegetables, cheese, desserts, yogurts and fruit, and house wine, water and fruit juices. Picnic lunches can be ordered from reception if booked before 6pm the previous evening. There is afternoon snacks provided for your return from skiing including hot drinks, cake or crepes or waffles. High tea is provided for children at 5.30pm and this is supervised by the childcare staff with parents being asked to acconpany any children under 3 years old.

Ski Childcare & Children’s Ski Lessons

We have led the childcare concept for UK families on skiing holidays for the last 35 years and our programme is constantly reviewed and refined, with previous guest feedback always the key element in further enhancing the experience.

For parents, Classic Childcare means being able to leave your accommodation after breakfast to head for the first lifts, only needing to return after the last one shuts. We look after your children completely throughout the ski day if you wish.

While the babies and toddlers go to our Nursery, staff take the older ones to our partner ski-school, collect them, give them lunch, run activities to keep them happy and stimulated and then take them back to their chalets for their high tea, giving you our super-convenient ‘Seamless Service’ throughout the day.

Why Choose us?

  • 35 years experience as the UK’s leading family ski specialist
  • The biggest choice of childcare services in skiing
  • Flexible childcare options, from half-days up to our 'Seamless Service' from 9am-6pm
  • Strict ratios of nannies to children in all our Nurseries
  • All nannies properly qualified and English-speaking
  • All childcare staff are subject to the new Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Check (formerly the 'CRB' check) in line with the UK's legal requirements for anyone working regularly and closely with children.
  • All appropriate childcare and catering staff trained to the City & Guilds Level 2 in Food Safety or equivalent
  • Strict signing-in/out procedures for all ages whenever responsibility for children passes between staff or ski instructors and parents
  • Exclusive ski classes, with the best English-speaking instructors
  • Maximum 8 children in a class, and only 6 per class for 3-4 year-olds

In the French Alps' Savoie region, La Plagne was established in the early sixties and now consists of 11 villages: 7 purpose built villages and 4 traditional villages. The aptly named Plagne Centre at the heart of the resort is the main hub of shops, restaurants and après ski. Just underneath lies Plagne 1800, a cluster of chalets spread across a steep hillside. Higher up are Aime-la-Plagne, Plagne-Soleil and Plagne-Villages, all accessible via chairlifts from Plagne Centre. Plagne Bellecote rests over a l...
There are plenty of nursery slopes with access to free beginner lifts and a wide choice of different ski schools for those new to skiing. The slopes around the Belle Plagne area are particularly suitable for beginners. The blue run linking Les Bauches to Montchavin provides a manageable step up in difficulty from the nursery slopes. For those who class themselves as intermediate skiers, La Plagne is paradise. 77% of the runs are graded either blue or red. Particular favourites are the run from La Grand Roch...
It might not rival Val d'sere or Verbier for their wild party scenes, but this is an exceptional resort for unique après ski opportunities. Try snowmobiling at night, ice climbing in Champagny, husky sledding, paragliding, extreme tobogganing and more! One experience not to be missed is the bobsleigh track, used for Olympic training. There are various ways you can choose to go down it, but they are all guaranteed to give you a thrill as you will hurtle down at speeds ranging from 80 km/hr up to a lightening 120...
