Overview - chalet description - Chalet Hotel Crystal 2000 description

Welcome to Chalet Hotel Crystal 2000.                                                                                                 Since its introduction to our programme in 2010 the Crystal 2000 has been a huge success with families keen to ski in this highly sought after resort and it’s not difficult to understand its appeal when you consider all that it offers.  This comfortable hotel has all you could wish for when planning a family ski holiday; in-house child care, excellent leisure facilities, easy access to the slopes, family rooms and suites and above all, our commitment to giving you the best ski holiday ever.

Location, location, location!
It is hard to beat a location such as our Chalet Hotel Crystal 2000, being above the main resort centre yet situated right on the slopes of Courchevel 1850. The resort centre is an easy ski away and for après ski we offer our free complimentary minibus shuttle from 9pm-midnight every evening and, on our staff night off, from 7pm-midnight.

Ski Area Access
What more can be said? You walk out of the hotel boot room directly onto the slopes of the Pralong and after one short button lift, can ski down the Bellecôte piste immediately to the heart of 1850! Here, at the centre of La Croisette, the ski schools will meet our guests joining ski or board lessons whilst others can choose to head west to the Méribel valley, or continue down the glorious tree-lined runs to Le Praz or start your day heading high and south up the Saulire. Alternatively you can ski across to the Altiport button and across to the Biollay chairlift. At the end of the ski day you can return directly to the ski room door.

For quicker access to the top of Courchevel the Pralong chairlift from practically outside the hotel takes you across to the Verdons blue run to the Vizelle gondola or the Saulire cable car. You truly are spoilt for choice!

Comfortable Hotel Facilities
The Crystal 2000 really does lend itself ideally to families. Its spacious and welcoming communal areas are sure to be a hit with our younger guests whilst parents might prefer to make the most of the wellness area. The dining room and outside sun-terrace overlook the pistes and provide an ideal viewing spot for watching the early skiers or those on the last run home.

The suites and bedrooms are light and  airy and are of varying sizes so will suit most family groups.

Meals - food and drink in Chalet Hotel Crystal 2000

With a skiers’ buffet breakfast to start your day, afternoon tea to welcome you ‘home’, and 4- or 5-course evening meals with wine and coffee included to complete the evening, our chalets and Chalet Hotels provide by far the best value accommodation in the Alps!

We set high standards for our cuisine, and train our staff extensively before the season starts, to ensure that guests will enjoy every meal with us.

For six days of the week in both chalets and Chalet Hotels, our staff prepare all your meals for you. The majority of parents feel that young children can inhibit the dinner-party atmosphere at evening meals, especially if they are over-tired, so children under 13 years are served High Tea at around 5.30pm in our chalets and Chalet Hotels alike. They are not then permitted to join adult dinner, as they are generally happier either getting some rest ready for tomorrow’s adventures, or if 6 years old or more, joining our child care staff in Cocoa Club.

On their one day off per week, your host in chalets will prepare a Continental-style breakfast which will be left for you to help yourselves, whilst in Chalet Hotels, a full buffet breakfast will still be served to you as normal. That evening, you and your family then have the chance to eat out in one of the local cafés or restaurants, which your Representative will be happy to help you arrange.

Breakfast

A good breakfast is essential on a ski holiday, so we provide our chalet guests a choice of cereals or porridge, fruit juices, plentiful tea, coffee and bread (and croissants in France), cold meats, cheese and preserves, and boiled eggs. This is normally presented buffetstyle for you to help yourself.

In addition to all the above, our Chalet Hotels and NEW this year in all our chalets, a hot dish, such as scrambled eggs on toast, or home-made pancakes with maple syrup is also offered.

Piste Picnics

Our Chalet Hotel teams can also prepare a packed lunch for you on request, at a small local charge. For those keen to keep their Eurospending to an absolute minimum, this is the ideal way to keep your costs down!

Afternoon Tea

The traditional ‘welcome home’ after a day on the slopes will be laid out for you in your chalet or Chalet Hotel, ready for your return, every day except the team’s one day off each week. A good cup of tea or coffee is the perfect accompaniment to a delicious slice of freshly home-baked cake – different every day and our Chalet Hotels also feature a selection of cakes for you to choose from.

Children’s High Tea

High Tea provides children under 13 with a healthy menu, but tailored more towards children’s tastes than our main adult dinner, and puréed food is also always available for infants on request. Parents are asked to accompany their children under 36 months at High Tea please, whilst children from 3-12 years will be supervised by staff.

Adult Dinner in Chalets

In all our chalets, our four-course dinners for adults (and children 13 and over only) start with canapés and an apéritif, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert. The meal is accompanied by a choice of wines, unlimited during the meal service, with freshly chilled water also always available, and followed by complimentary coffee or tea with chocolates to round off your evening.

Special Diets

Vegetarian options are always on our ‘Culinary Choice’ menu in our Chalet Hotels, and are available in our chalets if you advise us in advance. Other special diets can generally be catered for at a cost of £35 per person per week. Any dietary requirements must be advised to us at the time of booking in order for us to be fully prepared.

Family Dining Chalets

For those families who prefer to eat together with their younger children, we offer our Family Dining option in any chalet of up to 12 beds, if you book the whole chalet for your own party, subject to chalet suitability. Everyone then eats together in the evening, starting at 6.30-7.00pm. The meals are based on our adult menus, with some flexibility for younger taste buds, although not a complete ‘à la carte’ choice!

The additional charge for changing meals to Family Dining is £39 per child.

We update Chalet Hotel Crystal 2000's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

"Childcare was great"

It was good! I would say that the best bit was probably the childcare which couldn’t have been better. It was ideal to be able to get straight on the lifts and not have to worry about them. You don’t have to take your children to ski school but can go and watch them in lessons if you want to. We stayed over Christmas - they had Father Christmas in and brought presents and put snow prints around. The food was pretty good – Christmas dinner went a bit Pete Tong but everyone was lovely so it wasn’t a big problem. It was just first week teething problems. It was quite helpful having the minibus to drive you back and forth, and the ski in/out was ideal and something I’d definitely do again.
