This package holiday to Chalet Hilde in Lech, Austria departs Saturday 4th February 2017, for a 7 night stay on a "room only" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

The resort’s premier status in the ski world makes it a favourite of the rich and Royal – Princess Diana used to ski here and don’t be surprised if you see the likes of Tom Cruise and Vladimir Putin on the slopes! This is famously the setting of the hilarious skiing scene in ‘Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason’, although you won’t have any Bridget-like disasters on the piste if you take advantage of the excellent instruction and beginner slopes on offer. You’ll find some lovely nursery slopes behind the village church (you can’t miss it) and up around Oberlech to practice on until you feel confident enough to take the Schlegelkpof and explore some brilliant gentle terrain for skiers and snowboarders. With a sizable...
