The Chalet Grange de Marie was lovingly converted by its local French owners a few years ago from one of the very first original barns in the Morel area of Meribel, the oldest and prettiest part of this lovely resort.
Forming part of a traditional Savoyarde building, this beautiful chalet is positioned just down from the popular and exclusive Chez Kiki bar/restaurant and it provides easy access to the skiing from the nearby Morel chairlift which will connect you directly into the Altiport area of Meribel, avoiding the need to go via the often busier Chaudanne lift area.
It has superb, spacious and comfortable living space and being furnished with traditional fixtures and fittings, it provides a wonderful home from home Alpine feel. There is a really effective infra red sauna in which to relax after a hard day on the slopes and the living room has the most wonderful balcony from which you can enjoy stunning views across the valley and perhaps over a well-earned slice of cake or even a chilled glass of House Wine! All bedrooms have modern en-suite (some of which are open-plan) bath and shower rooms and the large living/dining room has a huge wood-burner creating the ultimate evening ski resort atmosphere one could wish for.
Chalet Grange de Marie is situated just short 10 minute downhill walk from the main square with its many bars/restaurants and shops and is run by one of our hand-selected chalet hosts (with the help of an assistant on a rota) who live out but nearby. (Find Chalets like this)
Did You Know: La Grange de Marie is named after its wonderful local owners who have taken real pride on making the chalet what is today and who own the nearby Ski Chamois hire shop which we recommend to our guests when arranging in resort equipment hire.
We offer our properties on a flexible catering basis therefore providing our guests with as much choice as possible when choosing a fully-catered, part-catered or self-catered chalet or apartment. Your preferences will be discussed at the time of booking and a tailor-made itinerary will be costed based on your requirements.
Our chalet hosts all enjoy cooking and take pride in what they serve and whilst they are not necessarily qualified chefs, they have good experience of dinner party cooking and many of them will have attended one of the well-regarded cookery schools with whom we work closely to ensure the highest calibre of staff possible.
If choosing the fully catered or part catered option, you will be assured of good home-cooked food prepared and served by our specially selected chalet hosts. We do not offer luxury items or haute cuisine, we serve good wholesome hearty food fit for anyone after a hard day on the slopes. Menus will be varied and may include local dishes as well as the more traditional UK favourites such as roasts, lasagne or casseroles.
Our menus have been formed over many years taking into account previous guests’ likes and recommendations and whilst we believe this plan to offer excellent variety, there will be the odd occasion when a dish might not be well-received. We would ask you therefore that if you have any specific dietary requirements or a yearning for dishes in particular, you enquire before booking your holiday and provide us with as much notice as possible regarding specific diets such as vegetarian, vegan, celiac or non-dairy etc.
•3 Valleys ski area •Excellent ski schools •Lively après ski
Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.
