Location - where is Chalet Founets Amont

Founets Amont is located just over the road from the Bellecote piste and in the most sought after area of Courchevel 1850. From here you can slide a few hundred yards down a gentle green to La Croisette, the main lift hub of the resort. For absolute beginners, or for those just looking to do some window shopping at Prada, Armani and Louis Vuitton, we operate a morning ski school drop off on request for complete beginners, and a daily shuttle service between 1850 and our chalets in the afternoon from 4.30 - 7.30pm. Ski hire at Founets Amont is provided by White Storm who offer an in chalet fit service.

Overview - chalet description - Chalet Founets Amont description

Chalet Founets Amont was conceived, built and is still owned by a Parisian architect who was behind most of the properties in the exclusive Bellecote area of Courchevel, second home to the global elite. The house is littered with artefacts, exposed beams and traditional Savoyard character but also with a welcome dose of light and space

The fabulous galleried living area boasts a sensational fireplace with huge windows and a terrace that provides a spectacular vista of Le Signal and the surrounding mountain peaks.

The living room resembles a gentleman's club with inviting armchairs to ease tired limbs and a cosy snug on the gallery where you can tuck yourselves away in front of a film after supper.

The bedrooms are of a good size with high ceilings, large windows, plenty of light, an assortment of balconies and some pretty amazing views. The chalet can sleep up to eleven guests in five bedrooms.

The 'pièce de résistance' is probably the large indulgent steam room more reminiscent of a Turkish baths.

Divided into five villages - each known by its altitude - the Courchevel area provides a series of settings to suit different tastes, group make-ups and budgets. For pure, champagne-popping indulgence, VIP area Courchevel 1850 oozes exclusivity and no-limits luxury. Ideal for those at the genesis of their skiing career, a socking great 60% of slopes here are beginner friendly. There's a 'Stop Zone' where learners can safely conquer the basics before hitting the slopes, and 4 beginner areas (called Zen Zones) where you can gently progress – find two in the main area and one each in Moriond and Le Praz. As part of the effort to making the resort child friendly, fun for sprogs the focus of the Indiens piste, where little ones can enjoy face painting, a treasure trail and many...
Après ski in 1850 is the height of sophistication. Enjoy a cosy fireside cocktail in Le Stanleys or Les Ducs de Savoie, two of the resort's many piano bars; sample fine wine and champagne in Le P'tit Drink or head to La Grange or L'Arc (formally Les Caves) for an uber posh clubbing scene. Down in 1650, you can fully appreciate the stunning surroundings at The Signal bar. In spite of the limited snow conditions, we have had a fantastic holiday. Tim and Maxine have been outstanding chalet hosts – probably the best pairing in our last six years at Chalet Founets Amont; very professional and great attention to detail even producing delicious bespoke meals for a vegan guest. Great ski instructors from New Generation and excellent kit and service from White Storm. All in all, another great Christmas in Courchevel.
