Chalet Eleanor has been a hugely popular property in our programme for years and now with its recent refurbishment, its popularity continues to grow. Offering huge amounts of space, this superb freestanding traditional Savoyarde chalet is situated just below Meribel's main square meaning access to the vilage centre and ski slopes is incredibly straight-forward and just literally a few minutes walk away. The open plan living/dining room has a wonderful large log fire and impressive picture windows leading to a terrace overlooking stunning views towards the Women's Olympic/World Championship downhill run and river. The bedrooms are all plenty big enough and benefit from their own private facilities with a good mix of baths and showers.
The Doran Piste is just a 4 minute walk and provides direct access to the main Chaudanne lift station and various ski school meeting points. The main square is literally a few minutes walk meaning that well known bars/restaurants such as The Pub, The Taverne and Barometer are just a stone's throw away. All in all, Eleanor provides everything that larger groups of friends or perhaps 2-3 families are looking for. Location and comfort are paramount and so often hard to fnd in chalets of this size so Chalet Eleanor really is a great choice. (See more chalets in Meribel)
Did You Know: When standing outside the beautiful front door of the Eleanor, you would never know a building was there! It is built cleverly into a steep hillside to maximise space, position and views and is accessed from what is actually the top floor...
We offer our properties on a flexible catering basis therefore providing our guests with as much choice as possible when choosing a fully-catered, part-catered or self-catered chalet or apartment. Your preferences will be discussed at the time of booking and a tailor-made itinerary will be costed based on your requirements.
Our chalet hosts all enjoy cooking and take pride in what they serve and whilst they are not necessarily qualified chefs, they have good experience of dinner party cooking and many of them will have attended one of the well-regarded cookery schools with whom we work closely to ensure the highest calibre of staff possible.
If choosing the fully catered or part catered option, you will be assured of good home-cooked food prepared and served by our specially selected chalet hosts. We do not offer luxury items or haute cuisine, we serve good wholesome hearty food fit for anyone after a hard day on the slopes. Menus will be varied and may include local dishes as well as the more traditional UK favourites such as roasts, lasagne or casseroles.
Our menus have been formed over many years taking into account previous guests’ likes and recommendations and whilst we believe this plan to offer excellent variety, there will be the odd occasion when a dish might not be well-received. We would ask you therefore that if you have any specific dietary requirements or a yearning for dishes in particular, you enquire before booking your holiday and provide us with as much notice as possible regarding specific diets such as vegetarian, vegan, celiac or non-dairy etc.
•3 Valleys ski area •Excellent ski schools •Lively après ski
Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.
