Overview - chalet description - Chalet Davos description

Davos is part of a small private hamlet that we built on the sun-drenched knoll of Le Cret overlooking Val d'Isere.

We tried to fuse the ambience of an old stone village with every present-day comfort. To the smooth stone fireplaces, weathered oak floors and seasoned timbers, we added a veneer of cool contemporary styling including marble bathrooms, handmade squashy sofas, goose down duvets and original art.

Indulge yourself in the basement cinema, soak in the inside/outside sunken hot tub or admire the breathtaking view from the four poster Master bedroom.

Chalet Davos really is one of a kind and if you're looking for that little extra special touch, the Master Suite is certainly going to satisfy your expectations. Located on the Lower Ground floor, the suite is a luxurious Double room with a terrace, fire place, dressing room, en suite bath, hand basin and WC. There's also another Double bedroom and two Twin rooms, all of which are en suite.

This package holiday to Chalet Davos in Val d'Isere, France departs Sunday 1st December 2019, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounce it: val de saire/sare/ser) makes up half of Espace Killy which is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the attractiveness of its surroundings, the resort itself is a compilation of alpine hamlets made up of cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and eye-catching church steeple at its centre, the whole place is truly oozing alpine charm. And while dre...
In Val d'Isere you'll be skiing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski there, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of its premier status, the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009, along with the World Cup every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, beginners can...
Famed for its après ski, you're unlikely to have a dull evening in Val. The resort has 4 nightclubs including the legendary Dicks T Bar (open from 4pm - 5am). Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at Le Folie Douce, which boasts some of the best après ski in Europe. “Bananas” is another favourite, well known for its fantastic cocktails and convenient slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 92 restaurants, you'll find dishes to suit all tastes from traditional Savoyarde indulgence to Marga...

"Chalet Davos - A Val d'Isere Gem"

Trudi & Robin Knight

Our chalet hosts Victoria & Lucy were excellent and always had a smile!! Nothing was too much trouble and their home baking for afternoon tea was fabulous. For us our double room was a bit snug and being both around 6 feet tall the low beams particularly in the shower were an unwanted obstacle. The Molton brown products were lovely but we could have done with replenishment through the week. The shuttle service to and from the Chalet was excellent, a friendly and efficient service. Overall a pleasurable experience and the Val d'Isere resort for skiing was just fantastic.

Thanks Lucy and Sam for a really enjoyable and relaxing week. You were both so welcoming, enthusiastic and are great chalet hosts. Thanks for the tasty food and plentiful wine, as well as our morning cups of tea. Lucy coped amazingly well when poor Sam was off ill for 48hrs. The chalet was very comfortable and bedroom 1 was real luxury. Enjoyed the hot tub and cinema room when it was snowing heavily. Thanks to all the drivers for lifts, never had to wait more than 10 mins or so- what a great service- no more lugging the skis around the village. Great conditions at end of week to top off a great week of skiing. Overall a very enjoyable week.
