An Alpine chalet is a wonderful place to spend the festive season. We provide Christmas trees and decorations. On the day itself, you can look forward to aperitifs, turkey with all the trimmings, flaming Christmas pudding, mince pies, and of course, Christmas crackers. For New Year most of our resorts will have torch-lit descents, fireworks and other celebrations. Alternatively, you could just enjoy New Year's Eve dinner in your chalet with a glass or two of fizz.

We update Chalet Cristal 2's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

This package holiday to Chalet Cristal 2 in Val d'Isere, France departs Saturday 15th January 2022, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. "Very good"

This is a pretty “no frills” kind of chalet, but that’s what we expected. The food was good, though we had small children with us and some if it was a bit refined for our kids – in the end we asked the host to stop bothering with starters in the evening so as not to waste food. It might be worth looking into whether kids really need all the courses after having cakes earlier on. The location wasn’t perfect as the kids had lessons up in Val d’Isere rather than La Daille – it wasn’t necessarily the end of the world, just a bit of hassle to have to get the bus up. In that context the lessons started at 9 and breakfast was served at 8, so it was a bit of a rush in the morning to get everyone ready in time. But overall, it ticked all the boxes and we had a good week.

First time in a chalet.. and what a benchmark.. Superb! A truly great ski holiday experience and would definitely use this chalet company again... already looking for next year. A really well organised company with exceptional staff and the best accommodation we have stayed in yet. Good size, comfortable bedrooms with ample storage, with all rooms having en-suite. The food was varied and catered for all needs (which in our group there were more than average dietary requirements - which were met with no fuss or bother). It's in the detail and they have got it absolutely right.
