The Chalet Charlotte was fine. The food was excellent and the bedrooms were fine. I would have liked to be a bit closer to the slopes. It was about a 5 minute walk to get to the slopes. Other than that it was all fine. + more

Meals - food and drink in Chalet Charlotte

We know that one of the most important ingredients of any winter holiday is the food. At the end of a crisp day on the mountain, there is nothing better than sitting down with a glass of wine to enjoy a delicious three course evening meal and re-live the day's adventures.

To get you started every morning we provide a hearty buffet of cereals, fresh French bread and jams, boiled eggs, porridge, fresh fruit, yogurt, juices, tea, and coffee. On six mornings there is also a cooked option, such as bacon or sausage with scrambled eggs.

On your return from the slopes every day a delicious afternoon tea is provided of freshly baked cakes, bread and jams, and tea or coffee. On six evenings you will enjoy a wonderful three course evening meal accompanied by complimentary regional table wine. On the festive last evening of the week the meal is followed by a delicious cheeseboard of local specialities and complimentary port.

The majority of our chefs have gained their skills in restaurants and hotels around the world, and are keen to share with you the results of those experiences. Even though many return year after year, all are involved in our in-depth annual training programme to ensure they are able to meet the standards our clients have come to expect.

We update Chalet Charlotte's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

3 Valleys ski area Excellent ski schools Lively après ski

Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

Meribel's location is tricky to beat, slap bang in the centre of the mammoth Three Valleys ski area. British made and largely Brit run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a homely atmosphere in a good looking resort with more than enough pistes for a week (or three). It's made up of a huddle of gorgeous hamlets, built in traditional wood and stone and surrounded by thick woodland. The main area is Les Allues (usually known just as Meribel). A trad alpine village with choc-box chalets, this i...
With three beginner areas known as ‘Zen Zones' plus some good greens to practice on including Le Foret, Altiport and the Cool Moon area (carefully planned out so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings), Meribel's one of the best ski resorts to learn in. If you're skiing with little ones there are fantastic ski schools and child-orientated areas, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees. Moon Wild is a special area where children can learn about local wildlife as they enjoy the s...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes will be as varied as the days spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It’s said that you haven't experienced après ski here until you've sampled toffee vodka... We say the only real “must do” is Le Rond Point, which is perhaps the most famous après ski bar in the world. Meribel is rightly famous for its night life with a variety of pubs, bars and clu...
