One great advantage of these chalets is that whilst they are simply furnished, all rooms enjoy en suite facilities with their own Jacuzzi bath. Most rooms also benefit from their own balcony. Chalets Chanterelle, Girolle and Morille have a fresh, alpine style of decor and effectively use exposed wood to create a quintessential chalet atmosphere. This package holiday to Chalet Chanterelle in La Plagne, France departs Tuesday 27th December 2016, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

In the Savoie region of the French Alps, La Plagne was established in the early sixties and now consists of 11 villages: 7 purpose built and 4 traditional. The aptly named Plagne Centre at the heart of the resort is the main hub of shops, restaurants and après ski. Just underneath lies Plagne 1800, a cluster of chalets spread across a steep hillside. Higher up are Aime-la-Plagne, Plagne-Soleil and Plagne-Villages, all accessible via chairlifts from Plagne Centre. Plagne Bellecote rests over a low ridge to th...
There are plenty of nursery slopes with access to free beginner lifts for those new to skiing. This is complimented by a wide choice of different ski schools ready to cater to your particular needs. The slopes around the Belle Plagne area are particularly suitable for beginners, with the blue run linking Les Bauches to Montchavin, providing a manageable step up in difficulty from the nursery slopes. For those who class themselves as intermediate standard skiers this really is paradise. 77% of the runs are gra...
This is an exceptional resort for unique après ski opportunities. Spend the night in the Black Sheep Igloos, facing Mont Blanc, complete with a fondue meal and a morning wakeup call with breakfast. If this isn’t your idea of fun then ice climbing in Champagny and husky sledding are also on offer. One experience not to be missed is the bobsleigh track, used for Olympic training. There are a variety of ways you can choose to go down it, but they are all guaranteed to give you a thrill as you will hurtle down at ...

"Good location but rest was disappointing"

Neil, London
2/ out of 5
We were a bit disappointed in the chalet and the whole group were fairly scathing. It was very tired and the cleanliness of the place wasn’t very good. Overall the quality of food wasn’t great, if it wasn’t undercooked it was overcooked… There were some little things that were irritating, like when the wine ran out we’d have to ask for more rather than it being replaced – the service just wasn’t very attentive. The room I was in was very very small, the bathroom was adequate but it had a Jacuzzi where some of the jets didn’t work and it wasn’t very clean. The location was good though and we had perfect weather in La Plagne.

"It's the simple pleasures!"

Simply designed; what it lacks in chic, it makes up for in everything else. En-suite rooms and access to the Balcons de Belle Plagne complex means spa and fitness facilities are within your reach, not to mention the fact that it’s ski-in ski-out so the mountain is at your fingertips. The town is a short walk away (400m), and the bus service 2 minutes walk away, meaning you’re never too far from the fun in the evenings too.
