Overview - chalet description - Chalet Azalee description

Chalet Azalee in Meribel Morel is traditionally furnished inside and has a bright and very spacious open plan living area. In the living area you will find a log fire. The chalet offers free Wifi and Freeview TV, there is also a boot heater. All of the five twin bedrooms are exceptionally spacious and offer full sized en-suite baths....

Situated in the Morel area in Meribel, which is just above the town centre. The town centre shops and bars are less than a 10 minute, downhill, walk away. If preferred you can take one of the frequent free resort buses there and back, which will take around four minutes. The chalet is a 250m walk in the morning to the Morel chairlift, take the chairlift direct to the Altiport area, and head off for the day, avoiding the main lift area. If you are booked into lessons starting at La Chaudanne each morning, you will need to get the free resort bus from near the chalet to meet your lessons. The location of the chalet means that if you choose to you can ski right back to the door. It is not recommend for complete beginners, although clients said it was "to give hours of excellent video footage" if you do. As you ski down the blue H'ulotte run, you will see the chalet off the path to your right, you can ski to the chalet or continue down the piste to the Morel Chairlift.

No-smoking chalet.

This accommodation only holiday to Chalet Azalee in Meribel & Mottaret, France departs Sunday 7th January 2024, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

3 Valleys ski area Excellent ski schools Lively après ski

Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

Meribel's location is tricky to beat, slap bang in the centre of the mammoth Three Valleys ski area. British made, and largely Brit run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a homely atmosphere in a good looking resort with more than enough pistes for a week (or three). It's made up of a huddle of gorgeous hamlets, built in traditional wood and stone and surrounded by thick woodland. The main area is Meribel Centre (usually known just as Meribel). A traditional alpine village with choc-box chale...
Meribel is one of the best ski resorts to learn in. There are three beginner areas known as 'Ski Facile' (easy ski) plus great green pistes to practise on including Le Foret and Altiport. Both runs are carefully planned out so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings. If you're skiing with children, there are fantastic ski schools and child-orientated areas, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees at the 'Pistes des Animaux' where children can learn about local wildlife as they e...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes can be as varied as the day spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It's said that you haven't experienced après ski here (or anywhere for that matter) until you've sampled toffee vodka in Le Rond Point, which is easily one of the most famous après ski bars in the world - complete with a slide down to the toilets! Meribel's rightly famous for its nightl...

"Azalee 31/01/15 - 07/02/15"

I am part of a group of lads who have been skiing together for 25 years This is the first time we have used this tour operator. They are well up there Cannot fault the guys and gals. ... So very customer focused. We very rarely buy ski passes from the tour operator because of the CC charges. We got passes off them at the group discount rate and NO CC charges - a first. Plenty of visibility on arrival at Grenoble. Nice little touch of bottles of water and flapjacks on the coach up to resort. Chalet was really well appointed, rooms were very spacious with plenty of clothes storage space. Again nice little touch of sachets of wash and after wash products. Staff were great and food outstanding. Complementary case of beer was very well received. 5 course evening meal. The last being a cheese board and port - spot on. Their preferred equipment hire was not the cheapest, but you were picked up for an appointment time, straight into the shop and technician waiting to fit you, then driven with gear back to chalet. End of week gear just left in chalet and they pick up once gone. I needed to go back with boots mid week. When member of staff heard I needed to go to shop they ran me down in van and sorted change out in the shop. At no point did the rep attempt any hard sell of trips, bar crawls etc etc - refreshing. To sum up. A great experience...

Just got back from a week at Chalet Azalee and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. The chalet hosts were fantastic and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome and help us out whenever possible. The food was incredible every night, it felt like a cross between high-end restaurant food and delicious home cooking, the wines served with the food were decent too. In terms of location, it's a 5 minute free-bus ride to the main ski lift area (they run every 5-10 minutes from outside the chalet), or there is a quiet chair lift that opens at 9am from just down the street, we used a mix of both of these options which were both very convenient. The chalet itself was modern, spotlessly clean, with good sized bedrooms and a warm/cosy communal living room area. In summary we had a really lovely week here and will be spreading the word...

"Our holiday in Chalet Azalee was amazing!"

The chalet is really wonderful. Well laid out with the reception area at the top of the chalet and the bedrooms on the floors below. The reception room; kitchen, dining area and sitting area was very large, spacious and light. There were sliding doors leading out onto a veranda which gave beautiful views of the mountains. The bedrooms were clean, very warm and well laid out. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious. There was lots of storage space. The boot room was very spacious, with plenty of room for boots, ski's, snowboards and coats. The chalet was full, with 11 people in total and there was plenty of room for all of us to get kitted up every morning. Our hosts, Oonagh and Sam were the most excellent of hosts. They were friendly, helpful, sociable, courteous, warm and attentive. They both worked very well as a team and we were all very well looked after. The food was truly excellent. The meals were generous, beautifully cooked, varied and tasty. Nothing was too much trouble for Onnagh and Sam and they both continually went that extra mile to make sure that we all had everything we wanted and needed. Chalet Azalee is very well situated for either the complementary bus down into the town centre or a short walk to the Morel lift to access the slopes straight away. In the evenings, if we needed to, we walked into Meribel village and it is only a 10 minute walk.

The company are efficient and think of everything, the flights and transfers are on time and efficient making the whole experience really smooth and stress free. Eric the coach driver was pleasant and small touch's like waiting until everyone was seated before we pulled off was considerate and appreciated as was his excellent driving up the narrow mountain roads. Sophie was our resort rep and was friendly, courteous and very efficient. She sorted out all our ski passes on the coach and gave us all the information we needed about our hosts, chalets and ski hire. She then handed us all freshly baked flap jacks and bottles of water for the journey down as due to traffic problems our journey was expected to be 5 hours! However, due to Eric's expertise he took a different route and got us there in 2.5......what a great start!! We then were dropped off at Chalet Azalee where we met our hosts Sam and Oonagh and were shown to our rooms. The rooms were beautifully clean with lots of storage space and a modern en suite bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets and towels were soft and bright white! Our hosts were so brilliant that we wanted to bring them home with us! The food was some of the best we have ever had and very plentiful. The selection of wine was lovely and the home made cakes were excellent. Not only that both Sam and Oonagh were great company, efficient and nothing was too much trouble for either of them. They worked so hard and were perfect hosts, we will all miss them very much. We were collected by Jim who took us to collect our ski hire from North Face and all that we hired was perfect and we had no issues with any of the equipment and staff were friendly and efficient. Jim then collected us and took us back with the skis and our beers, wow what a service! On Wednesday, Sam and Oonagh had a well deserved day off but left us a wonderful continental breakfast. Sophie also popped in earlier in the week and arranged our booking for a meal out at 'Evolution' restaurant on the recommendation of Sam and Oonagh.....the food was out of this world. We had the most amazing skiing and weather the whole week. There is an abundance of chair lifts and everywhere is very accessible with lots of places to eat and drink throughout the 3 Vallees. We skies to every area and couldn't fault the resort in any aspect. We managed to end up at The ROND POINT BAR where we enjoyed jugs of beers and live music before going the short walk back to the chalet for delicious home made cake and tea. The Morel lift is a short and easy walk or you can get one of the frequent free buses to the Jardin if you want. I can easily say that this was a perfect holiday with a fantastic company, I can't think of a bad thing to say and anyone who travels to this resort with this company is going to have an amazing experience..... especially if they get Sam and Oonagh!
