Location: where is Chalet Arolla

Méribel 1600. A 2 minute chauffeured minibus ride from the Morel chairlift or 3 minutes from the centre of Méribel.

Overview: chalet description: Chalet Arolla description

Tucked away in one of the most private yet central parts of Méribel, Chalet Arolla enjoys a quiet location amongst snowy pine forest only 2 minutes’ drive from the nearest chairlift. The area ranks as one of the most sought-after in the resort, for its magnificent views and proximity to the slopes. For evenings exploring, Méribel’s shops and bars are just a short chauffeured minibus ride away.

Sleeping 10 guests in five individually decorated en-suite bedrooms, the chalet blends traditional Alpine style with modern accents to stunning effect. Spread across three floors with plenty of cosy corners for the family to escape to, Arolla is spacious yet intimate, with stylish soft furnishings and exposed wooden beams making it a wonderfully inviting place to retreat to after a day on the pistes.

The chalet’s bottom floor is devoted to post-ski relaxation, featuring an elegant steam room, massage area and doors leading outside to the alluring sunken hot tub, which commands splendid views of the Tougnète side of the valley. Next-door you’ll find the delightful television snug, perfect for keeping little ones entertained.

Arguably the most enchanting part of Arolla, however, is its enormous top floor, comprising a generous dining area, sitting room and well-stocked bar, in a convivial open-plan layout. All eyes are drawn to the striking suspended fireplace, where a crackling log fire beckons you to curl up with a slice of homemade cake or glass of champagne. Floor-to-ceiling picture windows let in plenty of light, while glass doors open onto a large, south-facing terrace which soaks up the afternoon sun.

Blessed with an enviable range of facilities and peaceful location, Chalet Arolla is a charming luxury home-from-home you’ll never want to leave.

Meals: Chalet Arolla food & drink

Eating has always been a memorable experience, akin to eating in a top quality restaurant.

We truly aim to deliver the best food in the Alps and succeed in this - we were the overall winners of The Times Chalet Chef 2010 award and so our food has been independently rated as the best in the Alps, but our standards have improved hugely even since then and our reputation in the ski chalet industry is unparalleled. As a result, we are able to attract extraordinary chefs, passionate about food and about delighting you!

Beautiful food deserves only the finest wine, which is why our wine list is composed by the acclaimed Master of Wine and owner of Savage Selection wines, Mark Savage. Mark brings interesting, small production wines to the table, all deeply characteristic of their origin and beautifully paired with our food. What better way to end a fantastic day on the slopes? You can read more about our wines and champagnes here.

We update Chalet Arolla's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

3 Valleys ski area Excellent ski schools Lively après ski

Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

Meribel's location is tricky to beat, slap bang in the centre of the mammoth Three Valleys ski area. British made, and largely Brit run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a homely atmosphere in a good looking resort with more than enough pistes for a week (or three). It's made up of a huddle of gorgeous hamlets, built in traditional wood and stone and surrounded by thick woodland. The main area is Meribel Centre (usually known just as Meribel). A traditional alpine village with choc-box chale...
Meribel is one of the best ski resorts to learn in. There are three beginner areas known as 'Ski Facile' (easy ski) plus great green pistes to practise on including Le Foret and Altiport. Both runs are carefully planned out so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings. If you're skiing with children, there are fantastic ski schools and child-orientated areas, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees at the 'Pistes des Animaux' where children can learn about local wildlife as they e...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes can be as varied as the day spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It's said that you haven't experienced après ski here (or anywhere for that matter) until you've sampled toffee vodka in Le Rond Point, which is easily one of the most famous après ski bars in the world - complete with a slide down to the toilets! Meribel's rightly famous for its nightl...
