Overview - chalet description - Chalet Aigle Royal description

This stunning chalet shares the same classic Savoyard style building with our Chalet La Perle. It will definitely appeal to those guests seeking a combination of excellent modern facilities and traditional character. The interior is particularly attractive with exposed stone and beams, complemented by vintage decorative touches.

The Chalet Aigle Royal is spread over three floors and the bedrooms are decorated to a high standard offering en suite facilities. The generous and comfortable lounge, with exposed high ceiling, is light yet cosy with large picture windows offering fabulous views towards Tignes Val Claret. Here guests can relax in front of the wood burning stove after a day on the slopes.

To complete the luxurious standard Chalet Aigle Royal features a sauna and steam room on the first floor and an outdoor hot tub-the perfect finishing touches for this super chalet.

Access to the slopes is via a non-pisted uphill track which is only 50 metres away, or you can take a short 4 minutes walk (approx. 400m) to either the Chaudannes or Paquis high speed chairlifts.

Guests will be asked to choose their evening meals at breakfast for that evening from a varied daily selection.

Our Chalet Hotel adult-only dinners offer 5 courses, starting with canapés and an apéritif, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert, and a cheese selection to round off your meal in style. All this is then followed by coffee with chocolates to complete your evening's repast! This accommodation only holiday to Chalet Aigle Royal in Tignes, France departs Friday 16th December 2016, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

Espace Killy ski area Fantastic après ski High altitude skiing

Tignes is somewhere you can ski longer, higher and further than most other resorts in the Alps. Owing its snow-reliability to the Grande Motte glacier, the local ski area is joined with Val d’Isere’s to form the mammoth Espace Killy - intermediates will have a whale of a time here. Choose between 5 different villages, whether your priority is convenience, cosiness or cheap accommodation. Tignes also has one of the most famous New Year parties in the Alps.

Tignes ski resort is one half of the stunning Espace Killy, one of the biggest linked ski areas in France. Because of its high-altitude terrain and access to the Grande Motte glacier, the resort is open both earlier and later in the season than many others and often the lifts are running for short periods of summer skiing. Predominantly purpose built, the resort itself is divided into 5 villages, each different in its own way but all well linked by lifts and bus services. The main area, currently being rebra...
With varied pistes at a high altitude, the ski area has impressive powdered terrain for skiers and boarders alike. Beginners can practice on the nursery slopes at Le Lac and Le Lavachet, where you'll find gentle, quiet runs that are accessible via free beginners' lifts. Le Bollin at Val Claret is another conveniently situated green and Grattalu is a lovely wide blue for those wanting to build confidence. Tignes is incredible if you ski at an intermediate level, with miles of powdery blue and red runs includi...
While it's said that those who appreciate Tignes do so for the serious skiing over the après ski, this doesn't do justice to the fact that Tignes' 60+ bars/pubs and 4 night clubs provide some of the best nightlife in the Alps. All villages have their fair share of places to eat and drink, and with a shuttle bus service running 24 hours, you can enjoy your evening without worrying about the journey back. Jam bar is small but with a great atmosphere and Loop bar pretty much offers it all: with live sport, world c...

This chalet is popular for combining contemporary décor with some nice rustic touches. The chalet has all the wellness facilities you’d want to help you relax after a thrilling day out on the mountain, sampling the best the Espace Killy has to offer- the sauna and steam room are on the ground floor, and there’s also an outdoor hot tub (be sure to check the facilities before you book as this is a review written in 2013/2014 and not the official property description). All of the bedrooms had en suite facilities - most also share balconies - and the Chaudannes piste is only 50 metres away. The communal areas are great for mingling with the other guests and this is a perfect crash pad for booking in all your friends or other families together. There are few better properties in Tignes for large groups. Love love love the wonderful food.
