CGH Résidence L’Alpaga Summary

Self-cater in style at the Residence L’Alpaga. Set on the hillside overlooking the resort, the apartments hit the spot in the looks department – open plan, with lots of pale wood, rustic stone and fancy feature lighting. And there are some first-class facilities to match the high-end feel too.

Kicking things off is the Ô des Cimes Spa, with its pools, sauna, steam room and hot tubs. There’s also a menu of massages and treatments if you feel like splashing out on some extra pampering. And if you’re staying with little ones, check out the kids’ play corner for a spot of après-ski playtime.

As for getting your ski on, first-timers have nursery slopes right outside, and if you’re ready to explore then the Comborciere chairlift that’ll whisk you up the mountain is also close by.

Moving onto mealtimes, the kitchens have all your cooking essentials sorted – there’s even a dishwasher to take care of the tidy-up. Then after the evening meal is done and dusted, you can borrow some board games for a snug night in on the sofa.

Up on a plateau at 1750m and surrounded by 2000m+ peaks, La Toussuire’s not the biggest name in French skiing, but it’s spot on if you’re looking for a cheap ski holiday that doesn’t scrimp on terrain. Self-catered apartments and 3* hotels make up most of the accommodation – lots housed in chalet style buildings, with high rise Le Corbusier style apartment blocks dotted about (convenience wins over traditional character in this neck of the woods). 55km of local slopes are shared with the smaller resort...
The Front de neige area is beginner territory, with a gaggle of short green and blue runs served by drag lifts. In the blue department, Marmotte is a lovely long, winding descent from Tete de Bellard to La Toussuire that shows off the sheer beauty of the surroundings. The Soleil chair on the other side of the village leads to the Lac and Soleil runs for more scenic skiing in the local area. If you can ski blues comfortably, it’s well worth upgrading to the area pass. Longe Comb’s one of our favourites - a...
If you’d pick dinner and drinks over pitchers and parties any day, the après ski here’s more suited for you – no dancing on table tops or champagne showers here. Le Tonneau’s a good people pleaser, where you can sit and drink beer and wine, watch live sport or tuck into fondue, pizzas or crepes. Grizzly gets packed out pretty fast, and you’ll soon see why when you try the regional dishes here... For a speedy snack, head to Ski K Faim for a sandwich or crepe. On top of skiing and snowboarding, activiti...
