Chalet was great with the shared areas providing adequate space and great facilities all round.. Very convenient for skiing being so close to the main lifts although skiing back in was difficult as the run that passes the chalet was largely shut. Bedrooms were fine if not a little small. Our hosts Ben and Xavie... + more

Location: where is Bellevarde Lodge

Situated just below the Santons piste and a 10 minute walk across the Solaise nursery slopes to the village centre

Overview: chalet description: Bellevarde Lodge description

Bellevarde Lodge is an imposing stone-and-timber chalet situated on the edge of the Santons piste. Yes, this means you really can click in and out of your bindings a few steps up from the ski room door. We used genuine old timbers from a local dismantled farmhouse, Italian marble in the bathrooms and some rather lovely parquet on the floor. The vaulted sitting room has an open fireplace, floor to ceiling glass and abundant plump and inviting sofas from which to enjoy the breath-taking view. After a hard day on the slopes, the terrace hot tub is the perfect venue for beer and bubbles.

Meals: Bellevarde Lodge food & drink

Our Executive Chef is passionate about food and hugely sensitive to the appetite of a hungry skier whilst considering a balanced diet. The new and refined menus are heavy enough to reward mountain exertion yet light and simple enough to leave you grinning not groaning.

All our holidays include;

  • Continental breakfast with a cooked option on 6 mornings
  • Afternoon tea will be left in the chalet for you to help yourself to freshly made cake or biscuits, bread & jams, selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate
  • Canapés on the first and last evening
  • 3 course evening meal (6 nights) followed by cheese board and coffee
  • A choice of red and white wine is served throughout dinner
We update Bellevarde Lodge's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...

"Great chalet"

The chalet we stayed in was warm, welcoming and fun. the people that were put together worked very well together! the chalet girls were both super friendly and executed everything very well. My ongoing criticism with chalets is that the menus tend to try rather too hard with international fare etc when most people would love a simpler English hearty meal at the end of the day - and this was the same with this company - but this is not the fault of the chalet girls who cooked everything well, kept the place spotless and were super friendly and helpful. Was a little annoying that our front door had an issue - I had to call from assistance as I could not get in one afternoon, and while I was let into the chalet (the gentlemen got in through the downstairs and let me in) the door wasn't actually fixed, but was diagnosed as "sticking", which meant others had the same problem later in the week. I also think as a tip the chalets could use marking with names externally as early in the week it was quite hard to figure out which one was ours! But overall a very good trip thanks to the chalet staff

Chalet was great with the shared areas providing adequate space and great facilities all round.. Very convenient for skiing being so close to the main lifts although skiing back in was difficult as the run that passes the chalet was largely shut. Bedrooms were fine if not a little small. Our hosts Ben and Xavier were extremely efficient and helpful at every turn and accommodated absolutely every request we threw at them. The standard of the food they delivered was great and breakfasts were perfect despite eclectic tastes. They really were faultless and lots of fun, really making an effort to make us feel at home and being very sociable which is exactly what we wanted. Ski shop service was great, especially ski pick up at the end of the week. Robyn looked after our son Dexter all week and was great with him. She also accommodated a lot of last minute requests and was available whenever we needed a few extra hours. Perfect! Lift service from town after après ski was handy but could have been offered a little later. Overall a great holiday.

But Ben and Javier were definitely the most fantastic part of the holiday. They are great chefs and looked after me very well, but most importantly made me laugh (until my tummy hurt!) every night. A great addition to the holiday and the group - lots of fun. THANK YOU!
