I really enjoyed my holiday as the bedrooms were very clean and the suite was very large. However I think the meat may of been a bit undercooked on some nights but the host was very nice and he did make some lovely food and cakes! Overall a super holiday + more

This package holiday to Aspen Lodge Suite 8 in Val d'Isere, France departs Monday 5th December 2016, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere makes up half of Espace Killy which is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the attractiveness of its surroundings, the resort itself is a compilation of alpine hamlets made up of cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and eye-catching church steeple at its centre, the whole place is truly oozing alpine charm. And while dreamily trad in appearance, Val's numero...
In Val d'Isere you'll be skiing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski there, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of its premier status, the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009, along with the World Cup every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, beginners can...
Famed for its après ski, you're unlikely to have a dull evening in Val. The resort has 4 nightclubs including the legendary Dicks T Bar (open from 4pm - 5am). Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at Le Folie Douce, which boasts some of the best après ski in Europe. “Bananas” is another favourite, well known for its fantastic cocktails and convenient slope-side location. "So central"

John, Portsmouth

These suites are an ideal place to spend a week in Val d’sere, you literally couldn’t get any more centrally located on the main street of Val d’Isere. The chalet is very clean, spacious and comfortable, and surprisingly quiet due to its proximity on the main street. The catering was amazing with literally everything made fresh everyday, and the chalet hosts are more than happy to cater for any dietary requirements at no extra cost. The chalet hosts and the concierge staff downstairs are very knowledgable, anything you need is no trouble at all. Theres also complementary drinks downstairs with use of the hot tubs throughout the day. A nice touch was the ski service in the morning, where a driver takes your skis down to the slopes so you don’t have to carry them as it is only a short walk to the main lifts.

This is our 3rd holiday with this tour operator each time in a different chalet. The chalet itself is nice but the kitchen is very small for someone to cater for 8 people in. It is the smallest kitchen of the chalets we have stayed in. Two of the knobs on the hob are broken and have not been fixed despite Eliza asking. My only complaint is about the cleanliness of the crockery and cutlery. I am not sure if it is a problem with the dishwasher, but we did keep having to rewash items because cleanliness was not to an acceptable standard. It would also have been nice to share with a family with similar aged children rather than 2 couples.

A few minor points. The beds are way too hard. I like a hard bed but found it difficult to sleep on these beds especially when you have skiing aches and pains. One kitchen roll a week is not enough.
