Location - where is Aspen Hot Tub Suite 8

On the high street in the very centre of the village and only 250m from the lifts and nursery slopes.

Overview - chalet description - Aspen Hot Tub Suite 8 description

Sliding glass doors open from the high street onto a smart lounge area with open fire, giant cinema screen for kids evenings and big SKY sporting events, Nintendo Wii, pool table, complimentary internet screens, draft beer and coffee bar. We have a reception desk for advice, information and concierge service and lift access to the private accommodation suites above.

This suite has four bedrooms, is entirely independent, with its own living and dining areas and dedicated chalet host. It's generously sized and furnished with tastefully understated style, from the invitingly large sofas to the funky designer bathrooms. This suite has a south facing balcony with a private tot tub, perfect for relaxing after a day on the slopes.

We are aware that some of our guests have found Aspen rather hot in the past and clearly it is not environmentally friendly to cool the building by opening the balcony doors. We are pleased (at last) to announce that we have successfully found a cunning way of reducing the ambient temperature in the building and restoring individual room controls by disabling a heat regeneration unit and incapacitating some sensors. Tests after the season (Spring 2014) have been successful and everyone will now be able to control the temperature in their lounge and bedrooms by an individual thermostat rather than opening the doors and melting the nursery slopes! Apologies to our Aspen faithful that it has taken us so long to work this out and many thanks for your enduring patience.

This package holiday to Aspen Hot Tub Suite 8 in Val d'Isere, France departs Sunday 23rd December 2018, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounce it: val de saire/sare/ser) makes up half of Espace Killy which is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the attractiveness of its surroundings, the resort itself is a compilation of alpine hamlets made up of cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and eye-catching church steeple at its centre, the whole place is truly oozing alpine charm. And while dre...
In Val d'Isere you'll be skiing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski there, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of its premier status, the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009, along with the World Cup every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, beginners can...
Famed for its après ski, you're unlikely to have a dull evening in Val. The resort has 4 nightclubs including the legendary Dicks T Bar (open from 4pm - 5am). Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at Le Folie Douce, which boasts some of the best après ski in Europe. “Bananas” is another favourite, well known for its fantastic cocktails and convenient slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 92 restaurants, you'll find dishes to suit all tastes from traditional Savoyarde indulgence to Marga...

The Aspen Lodges are quite an unusual format but they work well and we couldn’t fault the rooms and facilities. Kieran was an excellent host with exceptional cooking abilities. The central location of the chalet in the village is good but we certainly missed the ski in ski out of previous years. The morning ski service worked well apart from the first day as we’d assumed they’d get taken. It would have been nice to have a pick up service like the other companies in the resort. We could have done with more information on where things were and how things worked, assuming we know when we’re new to the resort was the only disappointment. Overall, a great holiday with the hassle taken out of skiing with kids.
