Please note: Alpenhotel Tirol is located up a fairly steep driveway, approximately 30-40m long. You'll need to walk up the hill with your luggage on arrival, as the coach can't get up there, but our team are usually on hand to make things easier. To save tackling the hill in ski boots, the Alpenhotel has an agreement with a nearby hire shop, where you can leave your ski equipment free of charge for the duration of your stay.

Overview - hotel description - Alpenhotel Tirol description

Family-run for generations, it won’t take you long to feel at home at the Alpenhof. The staff really go the extra mile too – from sharing tips on where to ski, to catering for special diets at dinnertime. As for the location, you’re in a peaceful spot between the river and snow-covered meadows. It’s only a short stroll to the village centre too, and when it’s time to hit the slopes, you’re moments from a ski bus stop.

After a session on the snow, unwind the Austrian way and head straight for sauna in the hotel wellness area. Or make tracks to the bar and get the après drinks in before finding a spot in the lounge to chat about the ski day. And when dinnertime rolls around, sit down to savour 4-course meals filled with delicious regional dishes, like cheesy dumplings and fresh, flaky pastries.

Ready for bed? The spacious rooms have an authentic alpine feel, with wooden ceilings and panelled walls. And some of them have balconies too, so you can step out to admire the views before turning in.

Galtur sits at the end of the Paznaun valley, which connects the resorts of Ischgl, Kappl and See along the Silvretta road. It’s not the most well known of the Silvretta resorts (neighbouring Ischgl claims this crown with its legendary après ski) but at 1600m, Galtur is the highest. This very traditional, quaint village centres around a pretty church and has some beautiful, old-fashioned architecture. Here you’ll find accommodation based around hotels and apartments as well as various restaurants, bars and...
The ski area is divided into six main sections that cater for all abilities: • Zwergerlwelt and Adventure Land for children • Action Park for teens and freestylers • Heroes Kingdom for freeriders • Piste Paradise for alpine skiing and racers • High & Nordic for ski tours, cross country and snowshoeing This is a fantastic place to introduce little skiers to the slopes. Children will love the Adventure Land area - the ‘Cross Run’ course is packed with gentle turns, Soppaland h...
This may be a small village in the shadow of neighbouring après ski hot-spot Ischgl, but that doesn’t stop Galtur having plenty to do when the slopes close. The Huber’s Stadl is the bar most punters head to as the day ends - its wonderful rustic feel makes it a lovely place to go of an evening. As the night goes on, the party continues onto some of the livelier clubs like Pyramide – which stays open until 4am. If you’d prefer a quieter night visit the Weiberhimml – a cosy mountain bar where you can ski bac...
