Overview - hotel description - Alpenhotel Laurin description

NB: while the Supplier rating is 3 Star, the Official rating is 3 Star Superior.

The Alpenhotel Laurin is the perfect refuge in the Hochgurgl mountains. Situated in an ideal location, 2000m above sea level, the lifts and beginners slopes are only a short walk away - great for when you're raring to go in the mornings and for when you're carrying your equipment back. The extra special thing about this hotel though is that, from the dining room and wellness center with their floor-to-ceiling windows, you get absolutely stunning views of the Ötztal Valley and surrounding mountains.

The rooms are comfortable and simply designed, but are fully equipped with everything you need for a week's skiing - and most also have fab views of the mountains. The staff are extremely friendly too, and are more than efficient with any queries that come their way.

As Hochgurgl is quite a quiet resort, there's not much in the way of lively après. The Laurin, though, is able to fulfil your after-skiing needs with their huge sun terrace. Enjoy a hot chocolate - or maybe something stronger - whilst topping up the face tan and admiring the gorgeous panorama. Once you've had enough of the outdoors (if that's even possible), you may want to take advantage of the hotel's 400m² wellness area. Equipped with a relaxation area - again with windows looking out onto the mountains - as well as a sauna, steam room and whirlpool, you'll leave feeling refreshed and having had a good dose of 'me' time.

The hotel is also well known for its delicious food. Whether its the healthy breakfast buffet or the creative and beautifully prepared 4-course evening meals, you won't leave feeling dissatisfied or hungry. So, your sleep, food, proximity to slopes, après and wellbeing is catered for here - why would you want to be anywhere else?

Austrian twin beds
Austrian twin beds are very common in Central Europe. They’re simply one large bed frame containing two single mattresses, both with separate duvets and linen sets, that cannot be separated. This small, stylish hamlet sits just above Obergurgl, high in the Oztal region of the Austrian Alps. Although little in size, the resort has big claims as one of Europe’s most snow sure ski areas – it’s the nation’s highest resort at 2150m and the mighty Wurmkogl peak at 3082m offers some of Austria’s best skiing conditions throughout the long season. As well as fantastic snow, it boasts stunning views of the surrounding mountains for an all-round charming alpine experience. A handful of premium hotels ma...
The ski area sits high in the Oztal region of the Austrian Alps and is famous for being snow-sure throughout the season. With the resort at a high 2150m, skiing back to base is pretty much guaranteed and with a peak that reaches 3082m you’ll ski some of Austria’s best conditions. The Topexpress gondola connects this ski area to neighbouring Obergurgl giving skiers and boarders 110km of varied piste to explore. The main ski area above the resort is well suited to progressive beginners and intermediate skiers ...
The après scene is fairly relaxed with most of the atmosphere centred on the mountain bars and, later, the hotels. One of the main attractions is the Top Mountain Star at the peak – the glass-faced bar, restaurant and terrace offer spectacular panoramic views across the surrounding mountains – a must visit for a lunch stop or casual drink at least once during your stay (don’t forget your camera!). There are a number of cosy restaurants on the mountain, one of our favourites is Hohe Mut over at Obergurg...
