I would really recommend the Hotel Continental!
Fabulous food, breakfast was always a buffet with everything you could want, I never asked for a cooked breakfast but I think they’ll make you one if you want it. There’s a nice coffee machine that freshly grinds the beans for really good coffee. The evening meals are always very good and there’s a little bar where you can sit and have a nice cocktail before dinner.
The staff are all fantastic and the bedrooms are lovely with under floor heating in the bathroom. They have family rooms if you want them and children are well catered for.
I love the spa area, it hasn’t got a pool but there’s a Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna and it’s all quite new so everything’s very nicely done.
It really has everything going for it - brilliantly situated in a good position for getting on the Dantercepies lift and you can pretty much ski in and ski out. I think they’ve just redone the lift so it’s probably all brand new out there now. You’re also virtually on the nursery slope which is bang opposite, so if you had children it would be really easy to drop them off at ski school and then take the lift up to go skiing yourselves. Walking down into town is a doddle but the only thing is you have a hell of a trump back up the hill if you want the après in town. This doesn’t bother us as we have our après on the mountain but if you did want to go out in town, the walk back up would take about fifteen minutes and is quite testing, especially if you’re wearing ski boots and carrying skis.
I wouldn’t say the hotel would suit hen do’s or stag do’s or a lads or ladettes holiday, it’s more for keen skiers who like to be on the first lift out.
