The hotel itself is fantastic, Bergwelt is always rated number 1 and I can see why. The food is unbelievably good, out of this world - they did all kinds of international cuisine and it really was to die for! For a ski resort you expect a certain standard and for a 4.5 star hotel you expect a certain standard - and this hotel is excellent.
My wife unfortunately injured her knee on the third day of skiing, but the hotel staff were excellent with helping out and getting everything we needed.
The hotels amenities are really good, our teen boys were too old to use them but they did have play areas for children. There’s an indoor and outdoor spa which was really good and a nice public bar area. They did some music events on a few nights and a meet and greet.
The room wasn’t quite as we expected, turns out the tour operator and hotel have slightly different specifications so it’s worth double checking when you book. We thought we had booked a 2 room suite, but it turned out to be a 1 room suite with the boys sleeping in the living area. Otherwise, the room was nice, very well appointed with a modern interior.
There are lots of good 4 star hotels in Obergurgl and this one is a short stride from the cable car because it’s at the top of the resort rather than at ground level.
