Good!!

Reviewed 25 May 2016

This was a good chalet hotel, the service they provided was good and they were quite attentive. The food was really, really nice, we were mega impressed! They had quite an adventurous and ambitious chef who tried to do fancy meals which worked really well. They were a bit low on the wine selection though: We had only 2 whites and 2 reds on offer, where one was a good wine and the other a bad wine. Everyone went for the good wine and if you were having dinner later you’d be left with the bad one.
The interior of the hotel is good enough that you can’t complain, but at the same time not anything you’d be overly impressed with. The swimming pool and sauna facilities were good. Our bedroom was a little on the small side but it was OK.
It was the school holidays and because of the nature of my work we were the only couple in a hotel full of families, but I don’t imagine it’s like that throughout the season.

Amazing value right by the slopes

Reviewed 17 Dec 2015

My holiday in Tignes was amazing! The chalet hotel is in a brilliant location, right by the piste and main ski lifts (Aeroski & Palafour)! It was only about 50 to 100m away. The staff were amazing, very friendly and welcoming. The pool and sauna looked very inviting, but I was too busy on the slopes to use it.

The cleanliness and upkeep was superb (they even folded my clothes that I threw on the bed, before I rushed out to go snowboarding). My bedroom and bathroom was very spacious and modern. I also had a balcony and a big window by my bed that looked out onto the slopes (my room was on the 4th floor). There is a lift in the building, which easily gets you to the ski room at the bottom.

The ski and boot room needed a security code to get in from the street (which the reception gives you at check-in), which made it feel safer to leave my equipment there. The boot racks were also heated.

The food was superb (with good options too) and the wine was great. The bar area was very welcoming and you can put drinks and snacks on a tab.

I would certainly come back!

Very nice

Reviewed 17 Apr 2015

The Aiguille Percee is very nice. They cooked us all sorts of things during the week, a cooked breakfast in the mornings, afternoon tea and a three course dinner with free wine (not the greatest of wines, but it’s free!). We got an upgrade to a superior room which was really nice. A few other people staying there said the standard bedrooms were a bit tight but ours was spot on with a really nice view. Getting from the Aiguille Percee to the piste took about one minute. You’re staying in Lavachet and there isn’t much there – we’ve been to Tignes a few times and stayed in Val Claret which has a lot more going on. You could reach the local bars in about a five minute walk or get the bus to Val Claret but with free wine in the hotel we didn’t bother.

Good location, food and staff

Reviewed 10 Apr 2015

I had a good week at the Aguille Percee, the location is good as it’s only 100m or so from the nearest gondola. I had a shared room with someone I didn’t know, I’ve done holidays like that before and it wasn’t a problem. The food in the evenings was alright and there was always plenty of wine available. The cooked breakfasts were often cold by the time I got down to eat as I don’t usually wake early, so I got them to make me some poached eggs which they were happy to do; the staff were all really good.

Good, great location, really close to the lifts, food a bit too fussy

Reviewed 2 Jul 2014

Overall, I would go back. The kids club was good and they took the kids to ski school which worked well. Our room was fine, just your normal French mountain hotel room.

The staff in the hotel were struggling as they tried to do a bit too much for Christmas and make it way too fancy. They tried to do something like 7 or 9 courses for Christmas lunch which they had never done before, it was way over the top and didn't come out until about 9pm on Christmas day. There were lots of kids staying here and our 9 year old daughter was asleep on the table! Had they just done a normal Christmas dinner like turkey, it would have been so much better. For the rest of the week the food was really fancy too, when you’re in the Alps you just want hearty French stuff and that would have been much better.

Not luxury but still give 5 out of 5!

Reviewed 7 Mar 2014

It was good – functional, not luxury, but would still give it a 5 out of 5!
They did a high tea around 4:30 to 5:30 and it was a very high standard, all homemade and brilliant – almost no need for dinner it was so rich in terms of the things you could pick.
Dinner was brilliant, there was always wine on the table, very high quality food and almost too much to finish! Some nights we had to skip dessert!
The chalet hotel has a central location, close to the lifts about 200 yards to the pool and near lots of other hotels and restaurants to serve every budget.
The staff were young and enthusiastic and very helpful. I’d definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family. It was the end of the season so the in house babysitter was not available but this was not a problem and the kids connected with other kids – it was a really memorable holiday for us all.
Everything was fine about this resort, we would ski here again. We were here at the end of the season, the beginning of April and the last three days there was 1m of snowfall! No shortage of snow all week!
