Most Canadian schools don’t take their midwinter break until March, which means February half term week gives Brits a chance to enjoy crowd-free skiing on Canada’s second biggest ski area. Use the longer flight time as a chance to get homework or marking out of the way, then make one of the village’s ski-out lodges your base for a wonderful week on the snow.
Sun Peaks is a fantastic resort for families, with things like the Sundance kids centre (for daycare and evening activities), the bungee trampoline (by the Village Day Lodge), dog sled tours and fat biking. The Sun Peaks Sports School provide group and private lessons for every age and level, as well as family race camps with professional coaching for ages 10+.
February usually sees excellent skiing conditions over here, with a good build-up of snow from December and January and temperatures on the up from the biting winter lows.
