For skiing North America over half term without wasting too much time travelling, Mont Tremblant's one of your best bets. Thanks to its location in Eastern Canada, the flight time's a lot shorter - just long enough to see off holiday homework or marking on the way over…
If you need childcare for teeny tots, Kidz Club Daycare are based in the pedestrian village and take care of children from 1-6, keeping them happy with indoor and outdoor games. The kids' lessons here are reportedly fabulous, with 3-6 year olds practicing in the Onésime learning area where the Burton Riglet Park has gentle modules for beginner borders.
If you've booked with the Snow School, ask about their Flaik GPS tracking system which shows you where sprogs are on the mountain - you'll be able to monitor their whereabouts and they'll love being able to see the number of trails and how fast they've skied at the end of the day.
Head to the activity centre to book dog-sledding, sleigh rides and snowmobiling if you fancy doing something special. The tubing slopes and ice rink by the St-Bernard Chapel are always a big hit with families once the lifts close. If you need to escape from the cold, the Aquaclub La Source has a super indoor pool with a kids' area (as well as hot tubs and gym equipment for more mature family members…).
