· located in the village of Midway · free shuttle bus · 10 minutes' bus ride to Deer Valley Gondola · 18 minutes' bus ride to Park City mountain
Located in the peaceful town of Midway, amidst the magnificent Utah Rockies, is the Zermatt Utah Adventure Resort & Spa. With its detailed and purposeful European décor, the resort promotes ultimate elegance and refinement.
Dr Fuller, the hotel’s designer, travelled to Europe with a team or architects and engineers to seek out the best design inspiration to reflect the local Swiss heritage in Midway. The town, situated 10 minutes from the Deer Valley Gondola, was founded by Swiss immigrants, meaning many of the buildings uphold the native Swiss look. The half-timbering and frescoes on the exterior of the resort’s buildings, the Swiss Canton crests on the 20-foot high lobby fireplace, the German wood carvings and the Swiss stained-glass windows make it a truly special property in western America.
As well as the impressive design, the Zermatt is home to more than 400 guest rooms fit for families, couples and friends who want to rest their heads after a day of exploring Park City’s slopes. The rooms are clean and cosy, with alpine wallpaper borders scaling the tops of the walls.
On the ground floor you can take a refreshing dip in the indoor-outdoor pool, or relax in one the hot tubs. The ceiling of the indoor part of the pool even features a sky mosaic that changes colour in the evenings. And, as the hotel’s name suggests, you’ll also find a spa at the Zermatt. Pick from a menu of treatments and massages or focus on your breathing in the sauna or steam room.
Breakfast is included at the hotel so, for dinner, you can head out and grab some grub wherever you like. However, if you’d rather stay in the warm, then you can choose to eat at one of Zermatt’s two onsite restaurants – Z’s Steak & Chop Haus or Wildfire's. The former is known for its award-winning steaks, while Wildfire serves up typically American fare. If your sweet tooth is getting the better of you, then The Bakery at Zermatt is your best bet for delicious European pastries.
