The Ylläs Log Cabins are located in various areas around Akaslompolo, typically between 500 and 1500 metres from the Äkäs Hotel and the nearest ski bus stop (around a 5 to 30 minute walk), depending on the cabin's location.
The large village supermarket is up to 1 kilometre from the cabins (around a 5 to 30 minute walk). There's also a selection of cafés and restaurants for those who prefer to dine out.
The ski slopes and ski school are approximately 3 kilometres away. The ski bus stops just outside the Äkäs Hotel. You’ll also find a number of excellent cross-country ski trails beginning nearby.
For guests with reduced mobility, we recommend the Villa Armas Cabins, which are situated closer to the resort amenities including the Akas Hotel.

Our Ylläs Log Cabins are the perfect choice for a classic winter wonderland holiday to Ylläs. Wake up to a blanket of snow surrounding your very own log cabin, it's one of the most authentic ways to experience Finnish Lapland.
Each cabin is unique. Some are built from traditional round pine logs, while others are more modern, constructed with flat-planed logs. The cabins are all adjacent and can be terraced, end-of-terrace, or semi-detached. Up here in the Arctic Circle, they've mastered heating and insulating the cabins - plus each one has its own private sauna and fireplace, great for warming up after a day of exploring Ylläs.
The cabins are spread throughout the village of Äkäslompolo. Some are located close to the resort centre, while others are set in more peaceful, secluded areas of Ylläs. They also vary in size and layout, making them suitable for couples, families, and larger groups. Unplug completely and reconnect with nature – no Wi-Fi means no distractions, just the peace and magic of the Lapland wilderness.
Lapland is one of the best places in the world to witness the Northern Lights and staying in the Ylläs Log Cabins during the winter months provides an excellent chance to witness this natural phenomenon. The cabins are also a great base for enjoying our optional extra activities, such as snowmobiling, reindeer and husky rides, or snowshoeing. Plus, after a day of exploring, you can unwind in front of the fireplace or warm up in your private sauna.
