Overview: apartment description: Santa's Sokosti Cabins and Apartments description

These silver-log cabins and apartments are full of Lapland winter wonderland charm. Surrounded by the stunning nature around, you can relax in the warmth of your own log cabin for a lovely family hideaway together.

A Cosy Haven Hideaway

Enjoy these unique log cabins in a lovely wooded area close to the centre of Saariselkä.

These Log cabins and apartments offer flexibility for all family sizes to spend time together. There are two buildings, one is the Lupukka log cabin and four Puilakka Log Cabin apartments, all with exterior entrances and Ukselma which is a separate log cabin close by.

No matter when you plan to depart, our magical log cabins and apartments are ready to welcome you. They have been built in traditional Lappish style with log effect on the inside and out, making a really cosy atmosphere for any chilly winter evening.

Breakfast is provided in the Lupukka and Ukselma Log Cabins when your hosts will provide a full buffet breakfast with cereals, yoghurts, fruit, breads, cheeses and cold meats as well as hot options.

Hosts will come in to cook breakfast in the large cabins but otherwise there’s no daily house-keeping. Beds are made for your arrival.

There’s plenty of fruit juice and tea and coffee as well. Evening meals are taken in Santa's Hotel Tunturi, just five minutes’ walk away including the final Festive Dinner on the last night.

Families staying in the Log Cabin Apartments have breakfast in the Santa's Hotel Tunturi but if they are travelling with the family staying in the larger Log Cabin then they can have breakfast together in the cabin, there’s plenty of space.

Choose your Santa’s Lapland experience

Both of our Lapland holiday packages include a reindeer ride, sledging with huskies, tobogganing, lots of snowy activities like snow hockey and mini skidoos, and a private visit with Santa. On our Santa’s Aurora package, your activity centre is exclusive to our Santa’s Aurora families and you’ll have an additional wilderness dinner, a longer husky ride and a snowmobile safari.

Europe’s northernmost ski resort, Saariselkä is 250km up from the Arctic Circle, not far from the Russian border. One of the main resorts in Lapland – the legendary home of Father Christmas – it has snow-sure skiing, a Christmas-card-esque village and heaps of festive activities all in one place. The village itself is surrounded by forest and full of winter wonderland charm, with its own little chapel, some shops and restaurants and accommodation ranging from spa hotels to traditional log cabins. Everythin...
Spread across the Iisakkipää and Kaunispää fells, the ski area is modestly-sized, with 6 ski lifts taking you up to 15 slopes. The bus is quite regular and does drop-offs at the top of the slopes and the base. From the base, one chairlift takes you to the top of Kaunispää (the rest of the lifts are T bars). All pistes take you back to the same part of the valley, where you’ll find campfires and cafés to warm up and rebuild your energy stores. This isn’t a challenging ski area and the slopes would best...
With only 15 slopes, this isn’t meant to be a resort where the sole focus is skiing and there are tonnes of other activities to fill up the week. Snowmobiling, reindeer and husky safaris really are as fun as they look and all are a great way to enjoy the surroundings. For something a bit different, try your hand at ice fishing or follow one of the more well-trodden snowshoe route. Even better, 15 minutes away by road is Santa’s resort, Kakslauttanen for a once in a lifetime meeting with the man himself. Fro...
