Saaga Hotel and Snow Village Week Summary

Venture to the winter wonderland of Ylläs for a week in the charming Saaga Hotel, ideally located for exploring the resort and all its shops and restaurants. We'll even throw in a night at the fascinating Snow Village.

Each year, around 20 million kg of snow and 350,000 kg of clear natural ice are used to build the spectacular Snow Village, which changes in shape, size and design every time.Covering an area of about 20,000 square metres, it consists of a hotel with snow rooms and suites, the Ice Restaurant, Ice Bar, Ice Chapel, a slide and a vast network of corridors, with spectacular snow and ice art to explore.

The Saaga meanwhile, is modern and inviting, with spacious rooms boasting fantastic views. From a fitness room and indoor swimming pool, to a revitalising spa with lots of treatments on offer, the hotel is perfect for unwinding after a day in the snow. And there's even a kids' pool and play area to keep the little ones busy.

Top that off with tasty buffet breakfasts every morning and you've got a pretty great holiday ahead of you.

This gorgeous Lapland resort (pronounced “U-las”) has welcomed skiers since the 1930s and is the biggest of the 35 ski areas in Finland, home to the country’s longest slope, the 3km Jättipitkä run (which translates to ‘enormously long’!). The focus is more on relaxation and entertainment away from the slopes of which there’s more than enough to keep all ages very happy. The Akäs hotel is most popular for a few drinks with a dance floor and club inside, while the restaurants in the resort serve all kinds of local delicacies – reindeer and freshly caught fish are both highly recommend...
