· 2 minutes’ walk to the gondola · 2 minutes’ walk to the ski school and nursery slope · in the centre of Ylläs resort’s ski village · some apartments are connected to the Hotel Saaga, while others are a very short walk away
Waking up in the morning and knowing you’re only a couple of minutes from the slopes is the dream – and with the Saaga Apartments, it can be a reality.
Nestled in the tree line of the Yllästunturi fell, these spacious and luxurious chalet-style apartments are also within walking distance to the gondola, ski school and nursery slopes.
All 95 of them are fitted with traditional Nordic wooden-clad feature walls, contemporary wooden flooring and a variety of modern furnishings. When you’ve returned after a day on the slopes, you can escape to your own private sauna to cleanse and relax.
Staying here means that you can take everything at your own pace - breakfast in bed and dinner in front of the TV – it’s up to you. If you do fancy a break from cooking, take a quick walk to the Hotel Saaga’s restaurant and bar to try some traditional Finnish cuisine.
You can also take advantage of the spa and wellness facilities inside the hotel, which, depending on the block you're staying in, are either connected to the apartments, or a short walk away. It’s free to swim some laps in the indoor pool, or relax in the whirlpool and saunas, but any treatments or massages cost a little more. There’s also a games room, so your little ones can get stuck into some video games or make friends over table hockey.
The skiing is great, plus Ylläs also has plenty of other amazing activities on offer. Visit the Snow Village, where architects construct whole buildings out of the white stuff. Or take a trip to Konijänka’s petting zoo, sending the kids off on snowmobile and reindeer sleigh rides.
