This package holiday to Ruka Ski Chalets in Ruka, Finland / Lapland departs Sunday 4th February 2018, for a 7 night stay on a "self catering" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

Nestled in the Finnish hills on the borders of Lapland, just south of the Arctic Circle, a visit here is a once-in-a-lifetime experience (and many return again and again). Since then it’s flourished, winning ‘Finnish Ski Resort of the Year’ at the 2013 World Ski Awards - there are now 34 groomed runs and over 500km of cross country trails. We also like number 7, which is a confidence boosting green that takes you back to the village. Intermediates are just as well catered for with 43% of slopes classified red...

If you’re feeling adventurous, don’t miss the Riipinen Wild Game Restaurant where reindeer, elk, bear and arctic fish are nearly always on the menu. The aptly named Classic Pizza Ruka has a friendly, informal setting. The Kontioluola bar regularl...
