Location - where is Hotel Rila

From the hotel, it’s just a few steps over to the beginner’s Rila draglift and Martinovi Baraki chairlift, or a minutes’ walk to the Sitnyakovo Express quad chairlift, which will whisk you up to 1780m and several different piste difficulties. The gondola is less than five minutes’ walk away, opening up the Yastrebetz side of the mountain. There’s also night skiing on the nearest slopes to the hotel.

There’s so much choice within the Rila that you may never need to venture out for dinner or drinks, but if you do, there’s a huge amount of choice nearby. Try Pizza Napoli or Restaurant Victoria for delicious food, or the White Horse and White Magic for a night cap or two.

Overview - hotel description - Hotel Rila description

The Hotel Rila has a prime position in Borovets, right at the foot of the nursery slopes and opposite the chairlift - so you can virtually ski back to the doorstep. That also means it’s centrally-located for all the resort’s restaurants, bars and shops.

The large indoor pool and whirlpools are free to use. And to really unwind, you can enjoy the spa's saunas, steam room, cryo cabin, Turkish bath and relaxation area for an extra charge. There’s also a new panorama bar with stunning slope views from the outdoor terrace, plus a modern nightclub, a stylish restaurant and a relaxed lobby bar.

Breakfast buffets, and sometimes dinner, are served in the Les Arcs restaurant, and dinner buffets are also offered in the Seasons restaurant. Or you can upgrade to superior dining to enjoy à la carte evening meals in the Samokovi restaurant or Champions Lobby Bar & Diner.

At lunchtime, you can grab a hot chocolate and a snack from Champions and, in the evening, stop for after-dinner drinks at the alpine-style Terrace Lounge. Those looking for the livelier après that Borovets is famous for need not venture far – the Rila has its own nightclub, After Eleven.

A popular choice with families, the hotel runs its own nursery, ski kindergarten, so parents can make the most of their holiday knowing their kids are having fun too.

This package holiday to Hotel Rila in Borovets, Bulgaria departs Saturday 2nd March 2019, for a 7 night stay on a "half board" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. Do you dream of skiing down the same mountains where Bulgarian Kings of old once hunted? Oh, right. Just us then. Well how about a ski holiday at a snip of the price you’d pay in France or Switzerland, with exhilarating views, booming après ski and large doses of sunshine? That’s more like it. Here in Borovets you’ll experience a resort steeped in tradition and culture, and of course the fantastic skiing opportunities you’d expect to find at Bulgaria’s 1st ski region. In the charming village centre yo...
Young skiers will love Borokids Park, where the magic carpet, carousel can help them get to grips with the snow. The message to beginners from the lovely people at Borovets’ Chili Peppers bar is ‘more beer = less fear!’ however we’d highly advise against skiing under the influence, and instead suggest lessons with one of the local ski schools like Hunters and Yanakiev and the Sitnyakovo Royal Residence Ski Way’s wide, gentle slope for some cruisey confidence building. Each of the 3 ski areas offer int...
In spite of Bansko’s up and coming popularity, Borovets remains the party capital of Bulgarian ski resorts, with vibrant nightlife guaranteed as soon as you’re off the slopes. The ever friendly bar hosts at places like Bobby’s and Samokov offer unbelievably cheap local beer, and once the Bulgarian Rakia shots start flowing, you’ll understand why people are back in Borovets year after year. However, in spite of the après ski festivities, Borovets is far from just another ‘lads holiday’ ski destination. I...
